I went through a short tempered, phase after surgery, but that seems to be much better now, and I am gaining my even tempered self back again.
I just try to take it with a grain of salt when people say ridiculous things, and only hope that they will live long enough to learn better for themselves, because I have learned that you cannot change people by arguing them into it. "people convinced against their will are of the same opinion still"
It's an old saying, but so so true.

Wishing you all the best, Carol
count your blessings!!!!   At goal weight.   I am 5 ft 3.

Living WELL is the BEST revenge. Smile and move on. I would not surround myself with those kinds of judgemental people before or after surgery. You will do just fine judging from your post.
Good Luck,
Linda B

Just remember (what I believe to be) the most important thing about this journey:  it is YOURS and YOURS alone.  Your choices, your decisions, you results and your life!   I see nothing wrong with wanting to better yourself and you have done just that.  If your family cannot support that...well, they don't deserve much attention, do they?  If you must go, I would simply make an appearance and stay for just a short time.  If they bring up your loss, say thank you and walk away.  The day is not about you and, to stay sane, don't let them make it about you!

Stay strong and I wish you the best!

Living well is the best revenge.  Go & be your sassy, fun self... and be content just knowing how jealous they are of your new bod.

Current weight: 170 lbs.

Once I reach goal, this cow will be killed & eaten... 2 ounces at a time.

Total includes 56 lbs. lost on 2-month low carb pre-op diet.  Start date 9/13/10.

{{{Hugs}}}} and what every one else said goes!  You will do well.  Hold your head up high and be proud of your decision and what you have accomplished, it is your life.
