Just wondering if you or you know got cold feet and cancelled the surgery at the last minute? Why did you change your mind?  Did you regret it later on or feel at peace with the decision? Did you end up getting the surgery at a later date in the future once you had more time to think about it?

I never thought about canceling the surgery especially since I did so much to get approved in the first place. I think everyone gets cold feet and wonders should they do it or if it was the right decision. Surgery changes your life because you can't eat the way you use to but for me it is worth the sacrifice. i wish I had decided this years ago.

Best wishes to you!

I have not had surgery yet, I am still working on my 6 month waiting period.  I keep thinking do I really need to do this?  I only have 90 pounds to lose. I am sure I could do it on my own.   I have been trying to lose the same 90 pounds for 15 years and have not been successful.  One minute I tell myself to start making small changes and by August I might not need the surgery then the next minute I get excited again to know that this time next year I will feel so much better about myself.  It is so scary.  The thing that keeps popping up in my mind is once done you can't go back.  It is permanent.  I am a huge whatifer.  I just hope August will hurry up and get here this wait is killing me!

I had the same amount of weight to lose, about 90-100 lbs.  I have been overweight my whole life and was secretly buying all sorts of appetite suppresants, etc.  I finally asked myself would I be in the same situation a yer from now.  I had lost maybe about 10 lbs but nothing significant to make a change.  August is around the corner so put your best foot forward and you may not need the surgery.  Do what's right for you though.

I was apprehensive about the surgery but since I had pre-paid for the procedure I went through with it. Post-op I realized my concerns were baseless. The VSG has been amazing for me. I lost 100% of my excess weight and have been maintaining without a lot of effort. I can eat what I like, so I don't feel deprived, but I make better food choices now.

As a result of surgery I'm not hungry all the time. It's east to lose weight when you're not hungry and thinking about food all day.

A co-worker canceled her surgery the day before it was to take place. She thought there were signs telling her not to go through with the surgery. She is still yo-yo dieting and has put on more weight.

It's absolutely normal to get cold feet and second guess your decision.  It's the best thing you will ever do for yourself.  Best of luck with your decision.

It is completely normal to have doubts and fears. Surgery is not something you do everyday and this surgery especially is life altering.  I don't do well with change, I was not sure that I wanted to go through with it right up until the moment I was wheeled into the operating room.  I remember my husband saying "Aren't you excited?" and I was like "NO".  But now I wish I had done this years ago!!  I have absolutely no doubt that if I had to do it over again that I would.

I was rolling into surgery and changed my mind from RNY to VSG.   A bit dramatic, but a great decision!

Never be afraid to back out of anything you have doubts over. My dad once told me if you have any doubts about what your doing, don't do it until you've given it more thought. You can always get back in line.

I asked the same thing.  I was so scared.  I saw all these people going through with it and I felt like I was the only one who wanted to back out.  I was crying on the day of surgery and my mom (who had LapBand) was telling me I was going to be ok and I was going to be happy I did this.  Im only 9 days postop and Im feeling better everyday.  Its not easy at all and day 3 post op I was an emotional wreck but thats the only day Ive been upset.  I was eating a scrambled egg for breakfast this morning and I didnt want to stop eating it but I knew if I finished it all I would be throwing up.  Before surgery i would have had 3 scrambled eggs and probably some bacon and biscuits to along with it lol.  It is a scary decision, but the surgery really wasnt that bad.  The only pain I felt was really just feeling I did to many situps, waaaay to many situps.  I knew if I didnt have the surgery then that I would regret it.  Good luck!!!
