U would think so, but then again I see the same think with RNY'ers. Some do well long term..........others regain. Even after 5 yrs.
I am hoping more of the VSG'ers reply also.
This is where some of us get in trouble for sharing certain information.
Statistically there is a direct correlation between bougie size and longer term regain.
The bigger the sleeve is...... the more stretchy tissue is retained and it will have more stretch over time......easier regain.....pretty simple.
Think of it as bow and arrow......the middle part of the bow is very stiff and as you out from the middle it gets more and more softer/springy.
The VSG is a Non Standardized procedure.... All sleeves are not created equal.
*Bottom line is..... You can make any size sleeve work..... it is ultimately up to you. It will just be harder if your working with a larger capacity sleeve.
