yes I had low Potassium one week post surgery. Woke up at midnight shaking uncontrollably with a bit of confuion and felt panicked.....knew something was wrong. My throat started to close up, very scary. My hubby had to take me to the ER, with small kids in the backseat, and my K was 2.9. So they gave me tons of gross Potassium to drink and it went up to 4.2.  I take a potassium supp daily OTC 99mg and also drink dark choc atkins shakes x 1-2 daily. I haven't had an issue since.

This link shows the amount of potassium in various foods.  Maybe there is some foods on the list that you can incorporate into your diet (if you haven't already).

I wound up last week passing out two times. I went to the hospital by ambulance and found my potassium was only 1.9. They said I could have died. I was in the hospital getting potassium through IV got give days. Now six days later my potassium dropped from 5.1 to 3.2. I just started on supplements for the next five days. I had gastric sleeve surgery 7 weeks ago. When my potassium goes low I get real nauseous and dizzy and tired. This is so frustrating.

Please, keep an eye this.  Wacky potassium can cause big problems (both too much and not enough).  People like me who take meds for Intracranial Hypertension take loads of K depleating meds.

I was very low prior to surgery and was prescribed K-Dur for the week before, and then they hung a lot of potassium with my IV while in the hospital.  I haven't had any heart symptoms, though, but I'm hoping it will check out okay cause the liquid form is disgusting!!!!
