what can i eat after vsg -- latte? waffle with pb?
thanks everybody!! i've been around here a little bit, but just getting down to brass tacks on the whole thing. so, i'm still in the "i'll miss food" stage -- kind of denial, i think. i am absolutely going to follow the post-op plan as very best i can!!!
my journey is starting now -- beginning for my marathon by eating well (waffles and pb okay'd by my current nut), not snacking, trying to exercise (hired a trainer, moving more, though never enough), and trying to keep up my enthusiasm for the long road ahead!!!
you guys are great and i really appreciate the support!

You can absolutely eat all of those things! I eat peanut butter on an English muffin slice almost every day for breakfast. And I often have a latte (sugar free with skim milk). It's a good way to get in a glass of milk for the day. I haven't had waffles yet because I like to have protein with my meals and I'm not sure I could do that and still have a waffle. That's why I put the peanut butter on my English muffin. Protein plus a bit of carbs.
But if you can get in all of your protein and still have a waffle, go for it. I'd talk about it with my Nutritionist first, though, just to get his or her advice about it. But there's no reason why you can't have one once in a while. On vacation I had pancakes for breakfast one day. I think I could eat about 1 1/2 of them, but it was worth it for a treat.
And while I do often have roasted chicken for dinner, it's because it's easy and low cal and has lots of protein. But I don't plan on a life of chicken and brocoli. Still, I've noticed that my food tends to be simpler -- straight meat with veggies or crackers. Once you eat your protein, it's pretty hard to eat much else.
