I had the my surgery on 4-27-10. I started feeling sick 6-9-10. I was not able to eat with out feeling sick and did not want to eat. Since last Saturday I have not been able to hold any food or liquid down so we are on day 10 with no food. My Dr that did my surgery did some x-rays and gave me some fluids last week. Then I went to the ER and they did the same thing for a few days and sent me home. Now I am at the hospital again been here for the last 4 days and they are about to put a feeding tube in. Has anyone else had similar issues. They say my stomach is swollen and I have a small ulcer at the base of my esophagus I am very scared and not sure how or if I will make it threw this. Please give me feedback seems all of the Dr's are confused. Thanks Jeffhttp://images.obesityhelp.com/_shared/images/smiley/msn/confused.gif

It is scary when the doctors can't seem to give you a straight answer. Good luck and hope you feel better soon.

Oh my gosh - how horrible - but did they check out your gall bladder?  It is super common to have your gall bladder go bad about 6 to 8 weeks after wls - my husband experienced the same symptoms as you and was sick as a dog but the wls surgeon told him to immediately get the gall bladder checked and that was what the problem was...he had surgery and the gall bladder was infected and started to attach to other organs - so it is important to not let it go too long if that is part of the problem.  Please get better fast and maybe ask some other doctors???

you will be ok ISA,its a matter of time
the feeding tube will regain your health
you will be given some medications to heal the ulcer
u may do a gastrografin swallow
later on after discharge, if u was diagnosed by an ulcer , a biobsy may be needed.
God with you :(

I have read of others that experienced this or something similar...and they are doing well..!!

If you don't mind I would like to send a prayer your way...

Father, I come to you, asking that you touch Jeff, and send healing into his body...I ask that whatever the problem is, You, the problem solver, will solve his eating issues and Jeff will experience your healing touch...There is NOTHING impossible for you, Lord, and I trust that you hear, and I trust that you will act on behalf of Jeff, for YOUR GLORY, In Jesus's Name, I ask and believe...AND SO SHALL IT BE...AMEN...!!!

Blessings to you, Jeff...
I'm trusting you will feel better, very soon....Try and not worry...I believe you are in "THE BEST OF HANDS..!!"

I hope they find the answer. It is amazing how little is known about treating complications with the sleeve, I am running into a similar situation with esophogeal cancer and the feeding tube. I was wondering if anyone else on the list has had a feeding tube directly into the sleeve bypassing the esophogus. If you have an ulcer I would have thought they would treat it with antibiotics. Don't be afraid, god and all of us are with you thru this.
