Two months post-op update and pics!
I realize two months is not very long, but I am so happy to have my sleeve that I want to “pay it forward" whenever I can.
I have to say that I am 100% thrilled with my sleeve. This does not mean that I don’t have challenges such as learning when to stop eating, or getting in all my liquids and protein, but it’s well worth it!
It is amazing that I can be full on such a small amount of food, and NO, I do not miss eating! The only time I missed eating was when I was liquids. But even then it wasn’t a big deal since it’s such a short period of time.
So far everything that I have tried has agreed with me. I love chicken! I have tried: chicken, ribs (½ of a small baby back rib), salmon (really fills me up!), tuna, quiche, eggs (deviled), hamburger meat, cheese, greek yogurt, broccoli, pintos and cheese from Taco Bell…that’s all I can think of right now.
I can still only consume very small amounts of solid food (1 - 1.5 oz) so I still rely on my protein shakes twice a day. I have switched from Muscle Milk Light which took me two hours to drink, to Pure Protein which takes me an hour and sits much easier on my stomach. I wish I would have switched sooner because this switch means that I am now able to drink two shakes a day to get in all of my protein. There were weeks where I only got around 50g of protein a day, but now I get 90-100g (70g from shakes).
For me, if I eat too much or drink too fast my stomach cramps up. Unfortunately this does not happen until a couple minutes after I finish eating, so I’m still learning to stop before I reach that point. It’s not excruciating, but it is uncomfortable.
What else…I have not started exercising yet but plan to do that immediately. I feel great!!
I have lost 49 pounds since pre-op, 35 pounds since surgery. My starting BMI was 41 and is now 34. I went from a size 22 to a size 16/18.
My highest!

Now, down 49 lbs - Sorry for the cleavage but I'm workin' it while I still got it! lol
