Sorry for your complications, and hope you have a speedy recovery.

Sure scares the crap out of me though, I have my surgery one week from today with the same surgeon, probably same operating room.

I had a gall bladder surgery 3 years ago, and they had difficulty putting the breathing tube in place.
The most pain I had when i woke up was my throat felt like they had taken a wire brush to it. I discussed this with Pleatman so hopefully they will be ready for this with me. I will mention it again in the preop discussion Wed.

Good luck on your recovery.

Hey Libguy,

Glad you're  A-OK now..No one like a rough start.

I also fought with the hunger demon. You know what controlled it though, Nexium. It was a acid problem.

Hugs

Oh God, I just made a smoothie that included one of those protein bullets. DISGUSTING. lol I need to figure out a way to get protein in! Guess I should try some unflavored protein powder.

Good luck with your surgery Mack! Are you having it at Doctor's Hospital? The staff there was all very nice and helpful. But I imagine they're more attentive in ICU than in a normal room, which hopefully you'll be in. I don't wish ICU on anyone.

Yes, I will be in Doctors Hospital of Michigan. Driving up on Tuesday for SE Ohio.

I have been doing some of the Protein Shakes pre-op. The "Six Star Muscle Professional strenth Whey Protein" at Walmart for $18 is not bad in either chocolate or vanilla. I am alergic to splenda/sucralose, and have to be very careful with any diet anything.

I bought some unflavored from the website buybulkwhey.com. They shipped very fast, and seemed to have very good quality, and the powder by itself is very nearly tasteless. And they were VERY inexpensive.

I have been making smoothies using a scoop of the flavored, and a scoop of the un-flavored, and it has been ok. A little bit of decaf instant coffee crystals added to the chocolate make a nice mocha. Just make sure you add a tablespoon of unflavored benefiber powder to the protein shakes or it will bind you up. Walmarts store brad of this was pretty good too.

Hope you keep doing better.  Mack

Welcome to the loser's bench libguy! You will be fine because it sounds like you won't let it be anything else. I am glad you came out of that mess on the operating table. Will be happy to read your posts going forward.
