I'm usinhg the Bariatric Advantage Meal Replacement. It was recommended by my surgeon, so that's what I bought. They are to be blended with water or ice cubes. I'll have to ask about the ice cubes post op, I'm pretty sure that's out until I've had time to heal. The vanilla isn't bad, the coffee was really hard to take. I'm hoping the strawberry is good as I have a LOT of it.
I've also purchased Atkins chocolate delight shakes (only 15g of protein) and AdvantEDGE vanilla (17g protein). Both are very low in carbs and available @ WalMart.
I also got a bottle of Pro-Stat 64 liquid protein. Jury is out on that one. They have an unflavored kind which I will probably get post op. I got the wild cherry flavor and it is REALLY flavorful. I'm not sure what I will be able to smell and ingest post-op (even now I'm putting it in a shot glass and sipping it).
I'm with you on the pre-op diet being hard. I have very little energy; seems I've gone from about 3,000 cal/day to less than 500.
Hope this helps

Yeah, I was eating out of anger and stress for a few weeks before i started the pre-op diet so I'm pretty sure I was inhaling 3000 cals/day at least too.

thanks for the help, doll.

Yes lord I know about the lactose intollerance thing...especially POST op!  Not sure where you are located but there are two "milk" products that come to mind.  Mootopia and Hood's Calorie Countdown...both are like milk but WAY less carbs.

Also I discovered Almond Milk, smooth and thick (great for shakes) but hardly any carbs =)

Where do you find Almond Milk?  Grocery stores?  or natural stores?  also is it refrigerated or inthe canned areas?

I get it at the Kroger grocery store in the health food section.  Our walmart has the kind that is lightly sweetened (dangerous for me, it tastes and mouth feels like real, whole milk, and I would be tempted to swig it every time I walked past the kitchen!!).

I have found it at Trader Joes and also Whole Foods (not sure if you have those) both times they are on the shelf.  OMG I haven't had it in awhile but I swear it was all rich and creamy like...oh and when I found the Hood Cal Countdown in chocolate...just heaven =)

You guys have me all sold on Almond milk now.
Luckily, my mom's a vegetarian, so I see if she has some or hint that she should buy some and then I'll go raid her fridge.
mwahaha.
