I didn't use a loan, but have you considered a credit card, or a HELOC?  Also, HSAs are still a good solution if you have time to build it up.  My experience in provider billing has indicated in the few occasions I encounters folks with those loans are they can be quite predatory if you aren't careful.  Not all by any means, but a few definitely did real damage to folks credit.

Have you considered just using a credit card and paying over time if you are unable to afford it up front? There are no fees (other than interest of course) and very low rates that would be far better than what I am aware of with specialty financing.

Please consult your surgeon & nutritionist for how to do it their way.  Biggest regret? Not doing this 10 years ago! I financed both my son's and my VSG surgery with Dr. Alvarez and used Citerra and eFinancing.  Both are legitimate.  Good luck!
