Hi Honey, I find if I eat too fast and too much I get that feeling.  I'm a little over 6 months out and can't eat an entire cup of food.  I do eat several small meals throughout the day though.  I hope things get better :)
Tough times don't build character, they reveal character.

I looked up your surgeon online and was surprised that the El Camino hospital didnt have a food program available online. (or at least one I could find!)  I really would follow the one Rose provided.  The doctors at Johns Hopkins have an excellent reputation both as surgeons and for the way thier patients heal.  I attribute that a lot to the food progression.

Best wishes!

Hi everyone, just heard back from my Doctor's office.  They said it could be...I'm not drinking enough water, lactose intolerant (not this one) or maybe gas.  If I still have the problem, to call on Monday and they'll have me do an upper GI.

So today I had:
1/2 peppermint tea
1 yogurt
1/2 c applesauce
1/4 slice of deli ham (chewed til liquid)
dinner to go
24 oz water---I'll be drinking more tonight

going out tonight and taking my water with me

thanks, guys just thought you'd want to know, Linda

Aloha Linda-
I am a year out- the only thing I can eat a cup of right now is Greek yogurt. I can eat only 1/3 cup cottage cheese. At your stage, we were taking a few bites of food- and technically I wasn;t on mushies til 6 weeks post op because of swelling in my sleeve.
So- should you eat a container of yogurt? Not if you feel full before it's finished! When you feel full, STOP. And eat slowly- like over 30 minutes time. It took me 60 minutes just to finish an 11 oz protein shake until about 4 months out. Don't drink and eat at the same time, it's easy to overdistend. And Mac is right- that painful water balloon felling pressure behind your breastbone is food filling your eophagus because your stomach is full. Not a nice sensation, and can lead to problems with reflux, esophagitis, etc.XOLori

Clears 2 days, Full Liguids 2 weeks, Soft Food 2 weeks and so on

I must be an alien then cause I am 2.5weeks out and as soon as was able to start soft foods. I rushed to the sushi bar for sashimi no wasabi or Soysause. Ate 6 peices no issue..

I am making griled shark tomorrow.

I ate some broiled grouper a few days ago. Can eat 3/4 of a filet.. I can eat 4 shrimp and that fills me.
