Disappointed!!!
Well I just weighed. I am 1 month out today. I gained 2.5 pounds since the last time I weighed on 2/27/09. I am going to say that it is the first time that I have weighed other than the Dr.'s office so the scales ARE different. It has also been a while since I have had a good BM! (I know--TMI) and also I worked out in my yard this weekend and my legs and arms are sooo sore. Maybe building some muscles!! Anyway, I know it sounds like I am making excuses but I dont see any other way that I could have GAINED weight!!!! I am probably only getting 700-800 calories a day and most of that is from Atkins protein drinks. Ok, any advise any comments?? encouragement? Something? anything?
Thanks.
Thanks.
hi twinz
it's just your body adjusting, holding on to water when your losing to fast. my weight goes down really well for about 2/3 weeks at about 1lb every other day, then i get a gain or no weight lost for a few days. i panic and start praying, LOL & the weight lost starts again, & then i'm doing the praise dance again, LOL
don't worry, you while start to lose again in a few days, mydear, just keep sticken to the plan.

I am i the same boat; had surgery the same day you did, lost 20 lbs within the first few weeks, went to Dr. last week and was up by 2lbs! It freaked me out, I see him again on Wednes and if I don't see some weight off, I think I'll have a melt down in the office. I'm lucky if I get in 700 calories a day and while I do struggle with protein, it seems that on so little food weight loss would be a given, especially when I see people losing 30 lbs or more during the first month out. It can be very discouraging when other people (some of whom weigh significantly less than me) are doing so well and I feel as though I'm just wasting time, pain, and money. I' m telling myself to be patient, but when you hear the most significant weight loss occurs in the first 6 months and I don't have much to show for it the first month in, it certainly causes doubt.
Sending hugs. I know you must be disappointed but the scale will continue to move downward. There is no way it won't.
I also urge you to check to see if you are losing inches. I have seen many people write that when the scale is not giving happiness usually they are shrinking in their bodies. Measure yourself and see what's going on there.
Also review your protein and water intake and your carb intake. If you have PCOS, it is vital to keep the carb intake low.
Best,
Marci

It will be water weight and/or your scales weigh differently to your docs. Mine are different by a couple of lbs too. I am 7 months out and can sometimes gain a couple of lbs overnight - then it is off again plus more within a few days. I have given up trying to understand the workings of my body, but I see a pattern now and recognise that this is normal for me so I don't worry about it anymore. I can understand your disappointment though, I am sure I felt the same early out - and at one time was convinced that I could be the one that this didn't work for. Today I don't think like that anymore, because it is working so well for me.
Hang in there, keep doing what you are doing and you will soon be happy with the results.
