HELP, I'M STUMBLING
I AM 3 MONTHS OUT AND TODAY ALL I WANT IS SUGAR SUGAR SUGAR.....AND MORE SUGAR. I AM NOT EVEN FEELING MUCH RESTRICTION WHEN I DO EAT SUGAR. NOW WHEN I STICK TO MY PROTEIN, I DON'T EAT MUCH AT ALL. ALSO WHEN I EAT LIKE I SHOULD, I EVEN FEEL NAUSOUS AFTER A FEW BITES. ALL THE SWEET THINGS ARE GOING DOWN TO DARN EASY AND I DO NOT HAVE ANY TUMMY TALKING BACK TO ME....
I JUST DON'T WANT TO GO BACK TO SOME OLD HABITS. HAS ANYONE ELSE HAD DAYS LIKE THIS????? I MUST GET BACK ON TRACK.. I STILL HAVE ABOUT 20-23 LBS. TO GO......
THANKS FOR ANY THOUGHTS

Could it be that time of the month? I had a day like that last Saturday where I would have eaten anything in sight - I had a little sleeve binge - but by the next day and today I was completely over it. I don't experience this ongoing craving myself, but I have read that others on the forum find that eating sugar triggers the cravings for more........I am sure that someone who has had that experience will share with you.
Good luck..........Marion

If you have PCOS, you are probably insulin resistant. This can increase your hunger and sugar cravings. You should have your fasting insulin level tested and aim for a number less than 10 even though the normal range is higher. Taking metformin will lower the insulin level and the lower insulin level makes sugar taste less tempting and hunger not as bad.
Sugar and carbs are what we term slider foods, they just slide right down so easily, that is why you must take them out of your vocabulary. Snack on protein and when you finish that have more of it. If you must have a flavoured greek yoghurt, just get yourself away from the sugary sliding carbs! Carbs, just make you crave carbs. Shake for a day or 2 and get back on track.

Candee, you know what to do. Right now, you are on the slippery slope towards eating around your sleeve. At only three months out, some people still have some feelings of discomfort/nausea when they eat, particularly dense protein. That may be a sign that you need to take the food transitions more slowly than some other people, and still be eating softer proteins - the point at this stage is that you should not BE eating much at all. If you don't want to go back to your old habits, the only answer is - and I do not mean this unkindly - stop it. Stop eating sweets if they are triggering your cravings, and because they go down easily and proper foods do not, give you a "reason" to rationalize your behavior. Talk to your doctor if the nausea and discomfort are severe, but otherwise my friend, do what you know inside you need to do.
First off-could you stop the capitals? It is very hard to read. Thanks. What I find is that eating carbs propetuates craving more carbs. Make sure that you get your proteins in. Proteins take longer to digest so you feel full longer. Have protein on hand that you can grab. Sliced meats, string cheese, almonds, make protein balls, make sf pudding with added protein, etc.
About the nausea. It took me a very long time to know what full was so I overate and would feel nauseated. Could this be the problem? Are you eating very small bites and chewing like crazy. Like the posting before maybe you need to step back to a softer protein again for awhile.
But first and foremost get rid of the sweets. Empty your house of them. My achilles heal is ice cream and I know that I will never be able to have it in my house again as I have one dish and I torture myself because I want more and more.
You are doing great. Just get back to basics.

Candee,
You NEED with all caps, to stop the carbs. Replace them with splenda substitutes or stevia. If you are not already diabetic you might be on your way. You won't lose and will gain eating the refined carbs like sugar. Do what Teri said and try the drug metformin after you get the fasting insulin test. The metformin is helping me lose by resetting my insulin system. For three months I was stalled because I was eating sugar and felt like I couldnt' stop. I had to replace the sugar with splenda and start over.
It is working for me. I hope it works for you!
