Can you drink freely?

At 9 days I am still sipping but it gets easier every day. But is there a time where you can drink freely without having to sip sip? I know you cant chug, but what about taking rapid, large drinks? Or do you always need to sip with time between?

I am 5 weeks out and I can take rapid, consecutive large drinks. It has gotten much easier and I'm sure will continue to. You'll see.

Yup I can drink! I can chug my water if I'm thirsty but I try not to do that, not that I've had anything bad come of it but I rather just drink normal.
Honestly the drinking for real or chugging was a major concern for me before and just after surgery, I was worried about summer time heat and drinking but it's not gonna be a problem.

Hi - I am 6 months out and while it is much easier to drink now - I can only chug down half a glass at a time, let it settle for a few minutes and then have more. The only thing I sip nowadays is hot tea, coffee and wine!!

I am 2 months out and yes I can drink freely now without sipping. It will get better. I know how you feel!

What a relief to know that I will be able to take regular "drinks" instead of always sipping. Never thought that sipping would be so painful!!! Thanks for the info!!
