HI, I don't know if you got an answer to this question yet but.
vsg is where they remove a majority of your stomach to make it a banana shaped tube.
vbg is where they place a small 1cm plastic(I think it's plastic) ring through part of your stomach and then staple along that ring to the top of your stomach to make a thumb sized pouch. I hope that was clear!

Last chance to join in the OH Fashion Show at the NY Conference October 22nd!
Anyone interested in participating in the fashion show for the Long Island, NY OH conference on October 22, 2011 please contact me to provide information and photos at [email protected].
The OH Fashion Shows are open to anyone who wants to participate. After having surgery and working so hard to stay on track, you deserve to show off a bit! We ask that you send high resolution "before" photos and a brief blurb stating your surgeon's name, surgery type, starting weight and current weight (your choice). OH will put them all together to be shown on a large screen while you strut your stuff on the catwalk to music! This starts at 8pm on Saturday evening and we ask that you provide the outfit that you would like to be photographed in! To keep with our schedule, you may be asked to join the other models by 7:45pm that evening to coordinate the lineup.
Upon submitting your photo, you are giving ObesityHelp your permission to use your likeness on our website or in our magazine.

That depends on the surgeon. Each one has his/her own timeline. My surgery was in 2001. From my first visit to surgery day was about 30 days. I had to have a psyc eval and a PFT along with standard blook work

Hello all, I am new to this site and am trying to make sure I am making an educated dicision before I send my $2000 deposit for a VSG. I have researched "A Lighter Me" with the BBB and they are listed and rated with no complaints so that's a plus. I have read one lead on an infection one lady got but no other bad threads on him and his services. I do like that the money paid is all to a US bank unlike some other MX weightloss surgeries. Initially I was going with Dr Alveraz but his price is about $3000 more and there is not any difference in the surgery proceedure, after care ect. Dr Ramos Kelly after care is actually spent in a hospital not a recovery house from what I have read and what his booking assistant tells me. I would just like to know if any of you have used him and what your experience was. Has the VSG really made a positive difference in your life? I am a paramedic, not excessively overweight as I do have muscle I don't really get credit for however I have tried fad diets, Phen-Phen, Bontril ect and have gotten early stages of ulcerative colitis which they believe is caused from long term use of diet meds and supplements (as that is the only meds I have ever taken long term) now as I am getting older it's even harder to loose weight I have to drop my intake to about 1200 calories a day with something to control appitite AND exercise !!! I am excited but nervous. Just hoping there is someone out there that can help ease the butterfly's.

My surgery is on Monday, Aug 26. My doc is Dr Peter Henderson at Raleigh Center for Weight Loss Surgery. He has lots of experience although he is new to the area.
