Topic: RE: new to site - leg soreness, what to eat?????
I'm 14 days out and I have the same leg soreness you describe (although it's a little better today).  Feels kinda like I did too much walking a day or two ago, even though I haven't overdone it at all.  I did a lot of hiking before surgery, and notice that there seems to be quite a loss of muscle mass in my upper legs.  I'm just taking it as part of the surgery and healing experience.

I'm pretty sick of pureed foods already (been on them for a week - two more to go) but they sure tasted great the first few days. Have made sugar free chocolate pudding with a mashed banana and a couple of scoops of protien powder - still like that and cream soups are still nice.

Good luck!

Topic: Grads Group Discussion

I'm hosting a Grad's Group this Thursday 4/12 in Raleigh. The reason that I started this in person group is that those who have reached or maintenance tend to have some different issues/concerns than those who are in the midst of losing weight. That said, we have people who are still in the process of losing that like to come to these meetings because it gives them a 'window' into what life may be like once they do hit the maintenance phase of their own journey.

All of this said, I'd like to see if we can start a 'virtual' discussion regarding maintenance. What is it like for you? The good things and the struggles. If you haven't achieved maintenance yet, do you have questions you'd like to ask?

I hope to have you engage in this 'virtual' discussion with me and other members. If you want to do it as a continuation of this post that's great. If you want to join my 'group,' you are most welcome to do that as well; just click on the link in my signature.

I hope to hear from you one way or another,

Barbara

hey Vicki, I had my surgery in 9/2007 VBG w/hernia mesh by Dr. Valin .I know what you are going through. It seems if I eat the chicken or fruits I am vomitting with in 15-20 mins with the awful feelings of gagging and fluid/food vomitting. I have found I have to have hot liqids with all my meals.it is great eating small amts but I was still hungry so I picked up the bad habits of eating alot of salad dressing with my salads so that the food would go down. What reall ypissed me off is I could eat a bag of corn cheese puffs ( because they dissolve into empty calories) with no problem. but eat a cup of melon and vomit here I come. I did lose a total of 60 pounds gained back 30 I am 6 ft tall and started at 297lbs sometimes I just don't know what to do. besides that in the last years since 2008 I have had 4 surgeries on my knees from meniscus tearing in both knees. last year I had to have a total knee replacement and am just getting to being almost normal in all my activities. I am 57 yrs old and it seems to always get harder to achieve this weight loss goal. I am not going to give up but it sure would be nice if something could just be a little easier

Topic: RE: Endoscopy sedation question...
You will probably be pretty lucid, but leglly you should not drive for 24 hours after moderate or procedural sedation.  If an accident occured and you were tested for drugs you could be charged with DUI.
