Topic: RE: VBG w/ sleeve?????
I hope your surgery went well. I hope you post some feedback and your experience when you get some time. I'm seeing Dr. Elariny as well and plan to have the same procedure done soon.

Susan I would suggest you get a second opinion. All I can tell you is that I had the Lapband surgery on April 18th and it has gone really well. The day of surgery I weighed 251 lbs. and as of today I weigh 229 lbs. Hope you get some answers. Smiles, Donna A.

thank you so much. I had vbg in 1993 and have gain all my weight back and other problems, never had any atfter care so didn't know that any of my med problems could be from the vbg till I found all of you 1 day. I ask my family doc. if I could have a scope done. He said yes but not to believe ever thing I read. I had the scope done and I have a 33m opening in the staplie line. In so many way I feel good about this because that I know that all is not my fault. I think that to many family doc. don't clearly understand enough about weight loss surgery. With no after care that is why so many of have failed. Could any of you help me undeerstand what they can do! The doc. who done the scope said the opening has to be fixed. But I don't want them to staple it again and 6months or 10 years this come undone again. Thank you for all the help

Topic: RE: Lap Band/ VBG??
Wow I can't believe that 90-955 failure rate? I don't want to start any wars but I would double check that. I'm trying to decide between VG and Lap-Band as well but I haven't seen that number anywhere. Good luck!

Fresh, raw carrots and celery? I went to the doctor for the consultation, and I was told that if I have the VBG I can NEVER eat any raw veggies, citrus fruit again, and I can only eat chicken and hamburger meat. No other kinds of meat. All this for the rest of my life! But, you say you are eating carrots and celery raw? I am just curious about this. Not trying to be negative in anyway, just curious. Because all these restrictions just turns me off to the whole thing. I LOVE salad and veggies. Thanks for any info. I do appreciate it very much.

I am so happy for you! I can't imagine what that would be like to know you've done all you could do, but wasn't getting any results. You must have been so frustrated. Good luck to you!

Topic: RE: HI Everyone! New here But Got my date scheduled today for May 31st!!!
I think everybody is different in they way they recover from things. I was out of work for three weeks after my surgery. But it two weeks of that just to be able to sleep in my own bed. Laying down made me feel like something was pulling inside. I slept sitting up in a chair. It was no fun at all! I'd say taking him to the airport 10 days after your surgery is pushing it. My advice is to get somebody to take him. You really don't want to risk complications while your husband is not there to help you.

Topic: RE: How long where you out when you had the VBG?
I was in the hospital four days and out of work for three weeks. I had the option of just going back to work for half days for a couple of weeks, but didn't use that option. I wish I had, because I was very sore when I got back to work, and it was difficult to do my job. But I've noticed that everybody is different. I have a low pain tolerance level, and some people can handle pain very well.
