You probably won't be able to eat the same volume of food (8 oz) when you go to solids. Soft foods just sit a lot better in the pouch (at least in mine). When I eat hard/dense foods they sit just like a rock; therefore I do not eat as much when I am eating solid foods. Moving on to solid foods will be a whole new learning curve. You will have to figure out which foods work and which ones don't. Veggies probably will work well though. Just keep on getting in your protein. The other thing to consider is that when you move to solid foods you will stay full significantly longer than you do with soft foods. This "full" time means you won't be able to drink water/liquid as much as you can now. I find I really struggle with getting all of my liquids in between meals and that I have to make a conscience effort to get the job done! Best of luck as you continue your WLS journey! Sharon -115#

Allyson. Believe me when you start solids you will not be able to eat more than 4 oz. My doctor told me not to eat more than that but I couldn't have if I wanted to. I don't know about rny's but for vbg's 8 oz. that soon is too soon. Dianne
