Sharon, -2 more pounds WOOHOO! That's awesome -111 I'm SO jealous!! I always weigh myself right before I get in the shower. At least the scale isn't going UP. I have now added a dish of ice cream to today's nutritional input...so that brings me to 6 cups of splenda kool aid (that counts as water, right?) Two slices of pizza, the ice cream, and a bowl of grapes. Maybe I'll do better after work? (yeah right!) I'm going to check out your ebay store! I sell stuff whenever I have time. Right now I have a ton of stuff that my mom has given me to sell. Just stuff out of the attic, basement, or yard sale leftovers. I prefer to freecycle stuff now though. Less hassle than ebay. Tammy

Hey Ladies I cheated I had a happy meal from McDonalds. My watermelon only stretched so far. I had a strenuous night at school and was starving by the time I got out. I'm in school now to get my CNA certification so that I start my LPN clinicals in January. I only walked 1/2 a mile because I was tired, but I did drink ~75 oz of water. I don't have school tonight, so I should be okay. I'm trying to stay away from the ice cream, but it's so hot here and it's so tempting!!! It was 88 degress last night and muggy when I got out of school. Today it's supposed to be a little cooler. I've been having dreams about my surgery and what I'm going to look like afterwards. It's really cool. These are some of the most detailed deams I can ever remember having Did you guys dream about your surgery? Congrats on your 2 lbs Sharon , Tammy, you will beat the sugar monster!!

Hey Jenelle, Just realized you are from Wisconsin! Let me just say, "Howdy Neighbor" . I was born in Grantsburg, Wisconsin. It cooled off here last night. I was able to turn off the airconditioner before going to bed. It feels kind of muggy out right now -- but it is just starting to rain so maybe that will cool things off -- or just make it more muggy!! I did okay eating yesterday; I really struggle trying to get all of my nasty water in though! The only time I really want to drink it is when I am eating. What's up with that?? Do you think it has something to do with the fact that I CAN'T EAT AND DRINK! I used to drink a TON when I ate. I did not exercise last night. But did I mention that I ate okay?? I did my official weigh-in/weekly recording this a.m. and I am down 3 pounds for the week. After I lose another 3 pounds I will officially no longer be "Morbidly Obese" I will instead my "Severly Obese". I am very excited it will be an event I can cross off in my weight loss spread sheet! -- One step closer to goal. I never had dreams about surgery. I did start to have dreams where I was "skinny". I remember one dream of "jogging". I became fascinated with joggers after that dream. The thought of have my hair blowing back due to my own movement was intriguing. I could barely drive past someone who was jogging without getting into an accident. It still fascinates me. I can't wait to be at a weight where I can jog for some serious time/miles. Everytime I walk up or down (or run up or down) a flight of stairs I always think of the time when I couldn't do it. When I couldn't go one foot after the other because I was so big. It is probably one of my favorite after surgery "things". You will love all of the WLSM "weight loss surgery moments" that you will have. There were so many for me. Some I didn't even realize until after they happened. Life changes so fast; and for me it was all for the good. I am grateful for WLS. I don't think I realized you were pre-op. I am excited for you. You must be getting SO excited yourself. Work hard your first 6 months after surgery. The weight comes off pretty fast. Get as far ahead as you can in that time. It takes some effort and control now -- Feels like I am fighting this weight off now. Have a great day -- hope it cools off up there and here! Sharon -112

We are Neighbors!!!! I was reading the "Pouch Rules for Dummies" on your profile and I am going to do everything I can to lose as much as possible in the first 6 months. My goal is 175 lbs. Do you think 82 lbs is too high of a goal for 6 months? Your page is so amazing!! I was able to read the whole thing finally because I had a lot of time to myself over the weekend. My waiting period has been pretty much the same as yours, I went to the mandatory group meting back in November. I thought I was going to be denied by the insurance because I didn't start with them until 11/1/03. But I hate to wait, so this whole process has taught me patience. I chose the VBG because I don't have any children yet and I want to beable to eat higher fiber/calorie foods whenever I decide to start a family, but, I'm thinking of the RNY more and more. I just don't want to be stuck with only eating only a few things or not knowing what I can or can't eat. Ultimately I know I'll stick with the VBG, but I'm bad with "what if's" Darn it all!! Have a great day

I had lost 85 pounds by the 6 month mark -- I started at 340/ 5'2" -- Considering that you are already exercising I don't see why you couldn't get there. And yes, I'm feeling ya on the patience thing -- I have certainly learned that lesson well. The only other surgery that I hear more and more about is the Lap Band. I know they don't get "re-routed" and get eat most anything (higher fiber/calorie). I did not ever research that surgery. Have you?? The "what if's" killed me as well when I was deciding which surgery to choose. Today I think I made a wise choice. I like to be able to eat sweets in moderation when I choose. Do your research and go with your gut. What more can one do? Sharon

Hey SC I actually did all of my inital research on the Lap Band. That is the surgery I wanted, but my insurance doesn't cover it. They deemed it "experimental" but I'm cool with the VBG. According to my surgeon, the Lap was patterned after the VBG. So it's all good. I'm looking forward to it. I have to have my hernia repared at the same time, so I'm getting a double whammy. I had previously had it repaired last year in July, but it's baaaaaack, only this time bigger and alot more painful. I had it done lap last year and that hurt like hell!!! I couldn't even sit down to pee for almost a week!!
