Singles WLS convention
Hi all
Would anyone be interested in attending a singles WLS weekend event or convention? The locations could maybe fluctuate between north, south, east and west coast each year. I would love to attend something like this with other singles but we would need enough interest before it could be planned. Not sure the exact events that would be involved until we know the around what the head count would be, but I'm thinking support groups, a singles dance, speakers, business expo maybe, etc. Please let me know. Thanks!

This might be helpful but 70% of all the United States population is within 14 hours drive of Memphis TN. This is why the Fedex hub is located there. As a National convention location sight for the largest group of people that would be a great location.
You might want to start off small and regionally close to your own location. And if price is a concern Mid Atlantic Baltimore is considered a bargain location. But there are alternatives to that depending on the amount of interest you generate.
The problem I do see is based on numbers. I beleive that women way out number men for weightloss surgery so a singles event might not be the best idea. You might just want to have an event which is more inclusive of all people who have had WLS and network with other support groups to get people interested in attending such an event. Then as part of the larger event have small party for singles. Networking with other women who have cousins or brothers who are single couldn't hurt.
As for financing selling tables to people who see WLS patients as a target market will go a long way. Did I mention I was an event planner and have planned a few conventions.
