I had a VGB 9 yrs ago and recently found out that I have a staple line rupture. How serious is this? I have read that it is vey common in the VBG. My doctor wants to do a revsion to a RNY. Is there a possiblity of having this repaired? and if it can be repaired what is the chance of it rupturing again?
Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

The only problem is if they used a mesh band.  If a mesh (such as Gortex) was used then it will increase your potential for a leak in the staple line of bypass.

You might be stuck with an adjustable Lap Band as your option for revision depending on the job it did on your stomach.
