Topic: Support near Richmond, VA?
Hi everyone!  Anyone from or near the Richmond area.  I moved from DC and am looking for a support group in the area.  I am about 7 years post-op, but think it may be a good idea for me to attend a couple, just to focus.

Thanks!

Topic: Hello from Richmond! New to site
Hello everyone! This is my first post to this group. I was on this site a number of years ago, as I planned for and had my initial surgery. I did really well after my surgery and lost over 200lbs, and had 2 reconstructive surgeries. Life has been great, too great I suppose, and old habits snuck back a bit.

As a result, I am back here, getting back to the basics of what helped me be successful in past years. It is hard to believe that my surgery was 7 years ago!

About two weeks ago, I got back to the right things, water, exercise and high protein. I came back to this site to find accountibility and motivation. I look forward to meeting many of you and feel confident that I will lose this pesky 20lbs or so!

:)

Sudan won't do an RNY to DS revision.  He will only revise to ERNY, which will not help you.  Have you contacted Dr. Elariny in northern VA?

Hi and welcome!

Make sure you research ALL of your WLS options, including the DS.  Your surgeon's group does not do the DS, so do some independent research on it before making your official decision.  (I say independent because if your surgeon doesn't do it, you're not likely to get accurate or unbiased information on it.)

I traveled from Yorktown VA to Durham NC for the DS.  If you want to know why or any info on the procedure, my surgeon, etc. feel free to ask!  :)

Good luck to you with whatever procedure you choose!

I'm very excited for you! I just had my first consult. I will hopefully have surgery by February 2012.

There's also the Salvation Army on Little River Turnpike! Congrats, isn't it a great feeling?

I do not have much that fits me and that I can wear to work.  I have bought a few items and  they are now also to big!  This is a good thing and I am thrilled.  No complaints.  I just want to locate a nice thrift store and clothing exchange resource in the Northern Va area.  Anyone have any ideas?   A friend mentioned Goodwill on Glebe Rd in Arlington.  Anyone else been there?  I no longer fit Lane Bryant clothing very well most stuff is to loose so I am now in the regular women sizes and I feel so blessed and healthy.  Thank  you WLS!
