* Missing liquid diet (in my head) I'm kinda frightened being in this soft/puree stage that I'll gain the 22 pds back or that I won't lose any more.... silly I know but except for taking tooooo big of bites and it getting stuck in my chest for a minute.,...there is nothing so far but hamburger and scrambled eggs that I can't eat....... even my amounts are high ** I think** , I can eat a poached egg and a slice of Pumpernickle w/ no problem, other things measured by oz, I can eat about 6oz, when the books say 2-4oz. 22 days out, and very confused .....HELP !!!! Each doctor has different rules for post-op eating. I had surgery 5 days before you and was told NOT to eat any pasta or bread, unless the pasta was pureed with sauce. No bread at all. I am afraid to try eggs, but am eating hamburger patties, 1/2 of one at a time. At Golden Corral this weekend I tried several things at the sametime, shame on me, but everything stayed down just fine. But, TODAY I had some tuna salad because I liked it so well at GC and back it came. Amount--I can't tolerate more than 4 oz of anything. AND as the days go by, there are times I cant eat that much. Nothing is for sure except change. Dont give up hope. Call your doctor and ask him about your amounts. Lois

April, I went through the same thing at first. Try to remember that your new pouch is still healing. Softer foods tend to move through the pouch faster than more dense foods so it stands to reason that you may be able to eat a little bit more. I can eat more refried beans ounce-wise than I can something like chicken or shrimp. When I first came home I was able to eat/drink alot more than I am able to now. I was about 1 month out when everything seemed to "tighten up". It was at that point that 6 or seven bites would fill me up and the amount of water I had been drinking at a time became too much. I am almost 6 months out now and I still can't really finish an egg. Even with eating it slowly over a half an hour. Give it some time. I really think that the amount you can eat at once might decrease a bit. It did for me, but I know everyone is different. I hope this helps! Try not to stress out too much. I know that is easier said than done, though. hugs, Stacey

Hi Lois & Stacey Pasta isn't the best carb wise and all that , BUT, I can eat Lasagna,Ravioli,Mac n Cheese,Mashed potatoes all with no problems 4oz....I told myself I need to learn NOW to lay off the carbs so no more of those for me.....tuna salad, crab salad on some good crackers (2 crackers size wise) are staples for me along with poached eggs......WOW !! Golden Corral, that is like manna from heaven ,lol...I can't even imagine it !! I can't eat enough to justify it,lol.......I'm about a week early on the bread but I toast it real good so it doesn't ball up in Pouchie .......Lois,...a Poached egg is yummy, but scrambled did not sit well .....to dense I think. It's amazing size wise the difference in what everyone is able to eat, and still lose weight. I wish you both the best
