Hi All, So many new faces have shown up while I was in lurk mode. Congratulations to all who have had the surgery or just received approval. I'm 19 weeks out and have just hit onederland. I was struggling with getting there for almost two weeks. I listened to Nat and Leilani's constant advice and upped my protien and fluids. It really does work. My first question comes from my husband. How much tuna is too much? Truth be told I could eat tuna and cottage cheese at least once a day. When my hubbie realized what I was doing he flipped out and said it wasn't good for me to have tuna more than every few days. Getting my protein in had been tough without the tuna. For now I've increased my protein shakes to at least 3 a day. How much tuna do you eat? Do you worry about possible mercury poisoning? I hadn't hit onederland when co-workers were telling me that I didn't need to lose any more weight. I told them I needed to get to a healthy BMI. They don't want to accept that. One guy went so far as to say he wouldn't talk to me if I looked anorexic. I know they are scared about the possibility of me losing too much. How do I explain to them that the weight I was at was not healthy and I'm not trying to look like a runway anorexic? I see these people more than my husband and kids right now.. Thanks for any thoughts and suggestions. Time to play with the babies.. Heather I'm in onederland!!!!!

It's become a way of life really. My husband is so tired of hearing protien first. My kids will be saying it soon. LOL Good luck on your future weight loss.

I don't have advise on the tuna thing either, EXCEPT, I also eat a lot of tuna and also did so as a teenager (over 30 years ago!) I do not have excessive mercury in my blood system. CONGRATULATIONS on entering into onederland!!! I have approximately 40 pounds to go to enter onderland... 3 month surgeon visit is tomorrow. Tammy

I'm not buying the mercury thing. But, I also don't want to go overboard on my tuna and have him turn out right. Hubbies can't be right. It goes to their head for way too long. Onederland felt forever away. I didn't accept it the last week when it would peak at me in the morning (yes I weigh more than once a day.. shoot me) and go away at night. I want to be able to see the 198.8 in the morning and at night. I can finally say that I've seen that...

OMG I am so proud of you ... Heather !!!!!! This is great news .. and you keep saying Protein - Protein . Americas children need to learn this as well too .. Great Job ! As to tuna .. GURL EAT IT TILL IT COMES OUT YOUR EARS !!! Today's Tuna is watched very close . Are there traces of Mercury ... I am sure .. but it takes a lot .. ( I am going to google this soon ) And I have eaten tuna almost daily newly pre-op .. and now about 4 times a week .. I love it so much that I get the packets now and just eat it right out of there .. the protein is great !!! Again .. Keep up the great work .. I knew you could do this .. I knew it .. And as to looking too thin .. you are talking to a person here who hears this daily .. I let it roll .. I love the way I look .. I am comfortable the way I look and best of all .. I am healthy . You do what YOU want to do with you body .. YOU are in control .. I say .. if he does not speak to you .. His loss .. Well .. Know that I am always here for you .. Many Many Hugs .. ! Nat
