Friday night dinner - in Richmond!

Hello Patty!!!! WOW - wonder what the heck is going on, it seems like HALF the emails I send out on the new server gets lost in lala-land!!! Here is a cut and paste of what I sent you - thank goodness you were reading the boards this morning! *** Start of Email *** G'morning PATTY!!! ....um, and HELP!!!!!!! : )~ LOL - okay, let me start off by saying this might already be taken care of - but I can't "assume" with a group this big. Karen Showalter & Gail Sweeny already have a reservation for 10 at TCR (Tobacco Company Restaurant) I have been emailing with them since yesterday and the only one that is actually responding to the emails is Gail (Karen is out on the road right now) ....Gail says that absolutely they WANT to combine the groups and increase the reservations to 20 people and have their table near our table - tada, we now have 2 tables of 20, with 38 peeps showing up - problem solved, right? Nope - lol, not quite! Since KAREN Showalter actually MADE the reservation and it's her credit card on hold, they need HER to call and actually make the changes from 10 peeps to 20 peeps. Although neither Gail nor I see that as being a problem and we know Karen will do it, we don't know WHEN?!? Now that is the big problem - large groups are difficult to fit in so I'm thinking we need a safety net out there. You mentioned you wouldnt mind reserviing the other table (it'll take a credit card) and I'd like to take you up on that offer, if it still stands. I tried to book BOTH tables but TCR will not let me do that. Do you mind calling them today and booking a SECOND table of 20 - ask to speak to Rachel (she handled it yesterday) if she's not in, let them know you need the 3rd floor for a party of 20 and you want to be next to, or as near the table for "Leilani" as possible. Reservations are for 7:30. There phone number is: 804-782-9255 Keep in mind, if Karen does respond to my emails - there is a chance that I might be contacting you AGAIN to ask you to cancel your reservations. I hate to do that to you and it seems like a lotta hassle for nothing, but Im just so worried that we might not hear from Karen in time and we'll lose the space and opportunity. Rachel told me she'd be sending me an email MID week to get the information from me and to confirm my reservation - so you might be able to just cancel it ALL without having to give any CC Data. Lei, Okay this is all too strange...that is the correct email, but I didn't receive it.....oh well! Also, I just dialed the number you gave me..twice....and I get a recording saying that the number is not in service. I will try again though, but could you double check the number? Thanks hun.

LOL - I'm soooooooooooooooooo SORRY!!!! I'm literally juggling 3 message boards, a gazillion emails, a son who's chirping in my ear in the back ground, two fat lazy cats - both of who want my LAP which is where my computer is sitting ...so I did NOT proof my email or that phone number. Wow, sounds like you are definitely a busy girl! Leilani, you have truly been an inspiration to me throughout my journey. I remember reading your posts a few years ago on the main board, occassionally on the "other" board, and now here on the VA board.....you are a real gem! Okay here's the deal......I left a message for Rachel requesting a reservation for 20 on the 3rd floor. Then I remembered that on her voicemail it said she works Mon-Fri, so I called back and talked to someone else, and they said that only Rachel could make those reservations (since it is for a lg group). But this guy assured me that Rachel would be working on Monday (even though it is a holiday for some of us) and that she will return my call then. If I don't hear from her early on Monday, I will give her another call. Sorry for the confusion on all this.....................but I know it will be worth it all when we get together and have a blast! Hugs, Patty

Just making the difficult decision to take on something as life altering as WLS makes us so very special in our own right! I REALLY appreciate you helping out with the reservations - the upside to NO one helping YOU today is that means they can't help any other BIG parties today either!! Hopefully, your call is one of the first ones handled or returned Monday morning and we lock it up for sure. Also - I just got your other message about Tony and Nannette - you betcha, I'll add them now and resend a "recap list" to the most recent dinner thread a few posts up. Just need to check my names one more time and redo the count - right now, it looks like we have 30 FOR sure seats, 4 tentative names with seats assigned (Donna, Greg, Gail and Karen) and 6 open seats that might be filled by Karen's group - for a total of 40.
