Friday night dinner - in Richmond!

Okay - Ive rec'd a few emails about this and thought that instead of trying to figure out "who's email address to include and who's to leave off, cause they won't be there till Saturday" ...that I'd just bring this discussion PUBLIC and we can regroup this way. LOL - if you're not going to the conference and the Richmond topic is driving you bonkers, now would be a great time to scroll on by? Soooooooooooooooo - let's talk about DINNER on FRIDAY NIGHT!! Who wants to hook up as a group?? We need some sorta head count so we can then tackle the next question - WHERE do we go for dinner and will they take reservations for "X" amount of peeps. I rec'd an email from Natalie this morning (Pixie) and she's a definite. Paul and I SHOULD be there in time for dinner and dancing. Eileen and her hubby are also driving up from VaBeach on Friday. Eileen?!? Will you and Mike be there in time for dinner at 7:30?!? Also our friend, Lynda M will be flying in from Florida and is a definite. There are several others out there that I'm HOPING will also be joining us for dinner, but I refuse to name any more names. I have no idea what "your personal" plans are and although I hope you'll join us, I don't wanna put you on the spot, either. You are ALL important to me, nuff said. So let's start DISCUSSING! Who's interested in joining us? Assuming we still try to meet at 7:00 in the lobby area, it would seem that we'd need reservations for a 7:30 dinner. I ABSOLUTELY wanna go dancing at the Tobacco Company afterwards - so "my" humble suggestion is that we eat within walking distance of the club so we only have to park the vehicle(s) ONCE (for those of us that will be driving). If I remember correctly, that area is all pay parking and it's a pain to have to move the vehicles more then once. If we eat dinner at 7:30, it'll put us at the club about 9:00 - when the DJ starts up. Okay - now this is where the locals come in. WHERE DO YOU SUGGEST we eat? Other then the Tobacco Company - although Im still interested in trying that too - IF any of the locals think it's doable, and if any of the locals could get there early to start lining up a table for the "group". Sorry, I hate to dump so much on the locals - but if we're going to arrange this as a BIG group outing, we can't wait till we "show up in town" to handle it. If things go smoothly - Paul and I SHOULD be checked into the hotel no later then 5:00 and more then ready to meet in the lobby by 7:00. What are YOUR thoughts on it all? If you're interested in joining us - reply to this post, toss out some SUGGESTIONS and INCLUDE your email address, so that I can eventually bring this chat to "private emails". RECAP of the Questions: Who would like to meet as a group, for dinner? We'll need an accurate head count. If you do want to be icluded in the EMAILS - what's your email address? Where should we meet? Any specific restaurants in that area that takes big groups? What time do you suggest we be AT the restaurant? I suggested 7:30 but we're flex. OR - should we just try to stay with the original plan - which was dinner at the Tobacco Company...and hope for the best? Keep in mind, this might mean eating at different intervals in much smaller groups - BUT we can still meet at 9:00 for dancing. I'm too far away from Richmond to know anything about the area or toss out suggestions. I just know I'll be there Friday night and we ALL gotta eat, right? - Lei

YIPEEEEEEE - a local!!!! LOL - you're gonna WISH you'd changed your location on your profile, cause now I'm gonna pick your brain. I've never been to Richbrau, but the truth be known, Ive only eaten at two places in Richmond. The Tobacco Company and the Jefferson Hotel - so my experiences are limited to nil. I was going to email you to get more details - but thought that others who might be joining us would WANT them too? Sooooooo - details missy, details! Do you think they could take a big group reservation - for, let's just say 20 or 25 people?? Would you mind calling them and asking? Is it a LARGE restaurant, where if they don't take reservations - we could walk in and probably find tables, relatively easy? What kinda food? I was gonna guess German, but Ive been way off many times. Do they have a website link you could toss into this thread? I'm glad you'll be joining us, we'd LOVE to meet YOU too!

hey gang - not a problem - pick away Ok i just called that resturant and the manager is going to call me back this evening but the assistant said yes that is defintely something they can handle. Here is the link.. www.richbrau.com I know they have steak, chicken and some fish i believe. I will know more when she calls me back. I have been there and the food is excellent. In the earlier post, there were several people who were still VERY INTERESTED in meeting at Tobacco Company for dinner, but also interested in joining our group (which has grown to 26 people, btw, wooohooo) ...anyway, I called the Tobacco company and found out that they WILL take reservations for up to 20 people. So the way it stands now, we're going to go with the table I have reserved and also the table Karen Showalter has reserved (which currently is for 10 people) ...I have a post out on the board with all the NEW details and I won't bore you with them here in an email too. The main reason Iz' filling up your inbox with nonstop babbling? LOL, well there really is a reason, honest. I wanted to let you know about the changes so you don't put too much time or work into arranging a "Plan B" for dinner. It looks like Plan "A" will still work. With us all ending up at the Tobacco Factory for dancing later, this is probably the best option - this way, if the weather is freezing or raining, we're not out walking in it after we're done eating, ya know? Last time Kelly and I went upstairs and had dinner and it was fantastic...so fantastic I've been thinking about it since June...so it's my preference. I don't know this, but I would be willing to go somewhere else if we need to. What time do you suggest we be AT the restaurant? I suggested 7:30 but we're flex. Maybe it would be easier for a big group a little earlier than 730, I mean that is right in the heart of dinner time and I would guess a large group would be easier to handle a little earlier. We are coming down earlier than I thought, but I know some people won't be able to make this happen. I think planning on being at the club around 9 is good though because we could secure a spot before it gets too crowded! I don't know if that helped or not...TC is my choice, but I'll do whatever.

Hello gorgeous Hopefully you've had a chance to read the board since yesterday's post - the restaurant IS going to be Tobacco Company Restaurant (TCR) and we're now working on getting TWO tables for 20 - as close together as possible, on the 3rd floor. I already have one table reserved with my credit card, just waiting for confirmation from Karen Showalter and or Patty, that another has been lined up. Hey? What's your hubby's name so I can put it on the new list I'll be posting on Monday. Can't wait to see YOU again!
