Honey, I have no idea but I would definately call the dr and let them know...it might be nothing but you need to have it checked out. Please let us know how this turns out. Hugs a bunch Betsy

Most often a severely restricted diet causes the period to stop, like happens with female athletes of Olympic grade and also anorexic women. Non-stop period I would go to the doctor about. I am peri-menopausal so have stretches with nothing and then a really big period. I only tolerate it 10 days, then I go to the doc. for meds. The doctor told me not to let is go longer than that. Definitely go to your ob/gyn. Lois

Please call your doctor, that's an awful long time to have a period. I had one that wouldn't stop once. My doctor had me lay on the couch with my feet up higher than my hips and put a large ice pack on my abdomen. Just something to try, if you like, while you are waiting to call. It worked in my situation. Good luck. ~Ellen

Hey Holly. I was just talking about this with my nurse today. She said that because of the release of estrogen and other hormones as the fat melts away it is possible for us to have very long periods after surgery especially in the beginning as we lose it fast, she mentioned some patients going 6 weeks or longer. I would still talk with your dr. so that you are comfortable with the situation but it is something that can happen after surgery. Courtney 5 weeks out -29 lbs

Holly -- I'm not sure why you've waited this long and now you're waiting another week? I don't mean to be nasty, but you should have been at the doctor's office long ago. Sure it's probably nothing and just a result of the weight loss...it messes up our periods. But if you're not anemic yet, you're going to be very soon. Please don't wait another week. Dawn
