Did anyone see Al Roker on the Today Show yesterday morning? He has admitted he has gained back weight, he was weighed on national tv and he weighs 240lbs. He said at his all time lowest he was 185. He is going on a diet and exercise regiment and it will be tracked on the Today show. You can tune in and check on his progress. I am glad he is coming out an admitting that he has gained some weight back. Too many people thing he has done something wrong or his surgery didn't work. We all know that we will have some weight gain at some point. The ideal is just to keep our food and excerise in check do we don't gain too much back. I've gained some back, and I'm OK with it. Even with what I've gained back, I am still 3,000% happier than I was at 295. Leland

Thanks for the heads up on Al, this is a common problem and truth be told we all will have to live and battle with our food/ issues. Like we have heard so often "the surgeon operates on the stomach but the head issues are another domain completely." A doc is coming onboard OH late this month to address emotional eating, grazing, cravings and the like , on a regular basis. His website is masteringfood.com I for one am eagerly awaiting his imput. Bless you on your journey, Mary

Hey Mary - I had Dr. Lin too!! I love him. He is so compassionate and understanding, and just a first rate doctor. Just wanted to pop in and say that!! donna

Thanks for the heads up. I had noticed he was looking heavier. I am glad he went public with it and has rededicated himself to revised diet and exercise. It will be nice to watch his progress and watch mine at the same time. Lois

I always cringe when they have cooking segments on the Today Show, and you see him in there eating..............and how in the world he can let himself participate in Foodnetwork is beyond me, he is always sampling. Not having had the surgery yet, I don't know how hard it will be.

Hi Leland, thanks for this message. I really haven't noticed that he looked any different, you know when you see people all the time the change is hard to detect. But I did hear that he was going to do a Tuesday thingy on the show about diet etc so I wondered about it. Should be interesting. Thanks for bringing this to the board! Happy New Year Leland! donna

I saw him do a segment with Paula Deen and take a big bite of a frosted cake item. I cringed and wondered if he felt the ill effects of that bite later....it must be hard to try and stay on track with producers telling you to do the food segments. Glad he's getting back on track. Christina S
