I have lines from all that tape all over my body - gross!  So, my new past time is pealing off the adhesive grossness.  Other than that, things have been going ok.  I cannot get used to being on this side of the bench - post op.  I still have some abdominal pain, but I think some of that is due to constipation.  Working on that.   I still have problems sleeping through the night -mostly due t the pain, as well.  But everything, so far, has been tolerable.

So glad you are home, it will get better, keep sipping on water and walking when you can, it will help!  Welcome to the loser's bench!  lys

You cracked me up about peeling off the adhesive. I used baby oil on mine this morning and with a little effort, it all came off. I still have the pen marks on my belly from the surgeon. I am like you - feeling ok but not great. Have you taken stool softeners yet? I need to start today. I had diahrrea when I came home from the hospital so hadn't been worried about constipation. Post-op is challenging. I have been battling queasiness. I haven't had any problems with sleeping or getting comfortable. My drain tube is extremely annoying and I am calling the doc on Monday to see if I can get it out before Thu. I really hate it. I went to the Vitamin Shoppe yesterday and got some "natural" flavored protein powder which I am hoping to use in non-sweet drinks like soup. I am tired of sweet protein drinks but am able to get them down so I can get my protein in. On the way home my hubby bought me some egg drop soup which I strained and ate for dinner. It was so yummy and I think loaded with protein - probably salt too but my concern right now is to get in the fluids.

As far as the BM's (you asked a bad question of a nurse, we love to talk about poop!) they gave me MOM in the hospital and told me to continue on that and add stool softener as needed.  I am also taking the gas-x strips, wow, that helped alot!  What a relief.  I add fiber into just about everything but my toothpaste!  I have a great fiber rich protein added butterscotch ff pudding in the fridge.  I am adding fiber to my morning coffer and herbal teas (decaf, of course) as well as getting a little extra protein from the powdered milk I use in them.  So, meds, fluids, fiber and walking just as much as I can.  I'll let you know if it works.  In graphic detail if you'd like, but maybe not on the board!

I seriously think it took me like a week to get it all off.  I would get out the shower and be like..what is that???  lol

Just take it one day at a time girly...thats what I have been doing :-)

I was surprised at how easily rubbing alcohol took off that icky sticky goo residue, just wipe a couple of swabs around your incisions and it cleans it right off, no rubbing or scrubbing needed!
good luck w/recovery!
