Yesterday something really strange happened to me .
You have heard of " charlie horses in your legs " ? Well yesterday I had one in my hand ..
It was as if someone had control over my hand .. it bent on it's own and was very painful .
I straightened it out .. and it happened again.

I have had my labs done and all are well ... I just wonder if having low potassium could cause this in your hands too ?  ( I tend to run low due to my Addisons )

Just curious if this has ever happened to you .

Thanks,

Natalie

I get Charlie horse's everywhere, my tongue, foot, toes, hands, etc. and always have, not just since surgery.  I know that potassium and dehydration can contribute.  Hope you feel better soon.

Thanks Courtney.... I have never had them on my tongue ... but my hands , toes and feet they are bad .
I just read today while researching more , that too much calcium can bring them on too .. So many things to think about ..

Yes!  Low K, Magnesium and a few other minerals can give one cramps/charlie horses...if it keeps happening, get back to your doc to look at it and consider labs.

Hey Dianne ,
I made an appointment today to see the NP at my surgeons office . A couple months ago I had some unexplained weight loss and was due to come back for follow up . I am going to ask her , as I read today that excessive calcium can bring on cramps .

Hopefully I will get some answers.
