After training for a marathon for nine months, what do you think is most important – the actual running of the marathon or the time and effort you put in during your training? By running the marathon, you establish your endurance and ability to compete at a high level for an extended period of time. By training for nine months, you establish your ability to set goals, prioritize and stick with your plan, even if it’s difficult. Now, are you starting to see what you’ve accomplished even before you hear the gun sound? Too often we want to look at the final results only and ignore everything else we have achieved up until that point. Understand, just by setting a goal and doing all that is needed to reach it is a victory in itself. Reaching a goal is great; making a lifestyle change though is even better. |
