Hi Nancy & thanks for your post!  Your journey has been amazing...just look at you!  And I can tell by the way you wrote this, how excited & happy you are with your life-altering decision.  Way to go!!  These kinds of testimony give us all encouragement & courage to continue on when it would be soooo easy to just say the heck with it!  Can't way to see your new, & improved tats.  I hope you will post more often...we need your wisdom & advice since you've been there, done that.

Happy Surgiversary wishing you a speedy recovery from your PS!!

Hugs!
Ann

Nancy, Oh, you are SO right in so many ways! I, too, have just celebrated 2 years post-op on August 21st. I have taken a much different journey than most, but would do it again in a heartbeat. The way it feels to walk into Target or WalMart or GAP and buy something for ME-just that I could actually fit into clothes from "normal" stores! The prejudices you speak of... Oh, the embarrassment that I used to feel going out. People staring at you to see how you behave. The worst for me was grocery shopping and eating out. At the store, people would peer into my cart to see what I was buying-judging any and every little thing. I remember people staring at me while eating at restaurants...almost as if watching what and how I ate would explain to them why I was fat. I get different looks now. People readily smile and ARE more courteous. It's sad that people can be so cruel and judgemental. Congratulations on your incredible successful and HAPPY celebration of your new life! I'm sure the pride and love that you have for yourself shines through everywhere you go. God Bless, Lisa
