New to the Boards

Hello everyone!  I have been lurking on the boards for a while now and decided to finally jump in and introduce myself.  My name is Brenda, 36 years young and been married to the love of my life for just 10 months.  We have lived in Fredericksburg for about 3 years now, relocating from Colorado because of work. 

I have been working through all the requirements to get approved for surgery.  I have my 5th month checkup with the dr. next week and then only have 1 more month to go before it can be submitted to insurance.  I am excited about it most days, frustrated alot that it seems to be taking forever, nervous and questioning why I am doing this some days. 

I am looking forward to the journey and making some new friends along the way.

Being in Fredericksburg, you may want to consider not only attending the Bluepoint Surgical Group support group at Potomac Hospital, but also the support group in Fredericksburg, lead by Jackie Thodos and Sue Baker.  If you are interested in either of these (don't worry -- you don't have to be post op -- lots of great information pre-op as well!), just let me know and I can fill you in.

As I am only 2 months post-op (TODAY!!), I can totally relate to what you are going to.  I would also recommend going to the fredericksburg support group.  I went before surgery and found it very helpful.  Good luck and let me know if you have any questions.  Bluepoint Surgical with Dr. Tran and Dr. Halmi are excellent!!!

Welcome to board Brenda! Dr's Halmi & Tran did my surgery as well (1 year ago), definitely try and make the support group meetings if you can.  They really do help, i hope you get your surgery date soon, not to much longer.  WELCOME!  lys

Welcome Brenda.   I am fairly new too.   I had my surgery March 18th.   But I can tell you everyone here is great.   I know how fustrated you are.   I spent 2 years trying to get my surgery, in the end I had to pay for it myself.   But it was well worth it, and I'll never regret it.   Hang in there the time will be over before you know it.

Welcome I am almost 3 weeks post op cant beleave it!!!!   You are in great hands with Dr Halmi and Dr Tran.  They are a great doctors and really care about there patients.  Good Luck!!

Thank you for the welcome ladies!!  Congrats to those of you who have just had surgery and those of you who have had such great success!!  You all are an inspiration to me.

I plan on attending the support groups both here in Fredericksburg and at the hospital in Woodbridge.  It is difficult for me to get to them in the past because I was working in Alexandria and wouldnt get home until 7.
