Jill,
There are times in many people's lives that we need a little help of an antidepressant.  Society has placed a stigma on that as well as obesity.  You may not need to be the Zoloft forever.  I had been on medication at one point and to be able to recognize that you do need something is huge.  Sometimes our bodies get out of whack hormonally even without bariatric surgery.  Sometimes it is the weather...I'm sure you've heard of seasonal affective disorder.  Anyways, take your meds like they are prescribed.  Ask your doctor if you could take it at night instead if you notice you are sleepy during the day.  Also know that the meds may absorb differently since you are a bariatric patient.  Sometimes it can even increase your libido...people react differently to different meds.  I  hope taking these meds helps you in the right direction to getting out of this funk you are in.  Good luck!
