I noticed in the other post you said you have sleep apnea. Did it go away with the weight loss? Just wondering what my future holds. I would love to someday not have to sleep with the cpap anymore. I have severe obstructive sleep apnea.

I had cronic obstructive sleep apena and my cpap was on a 14 setting prior to WLS.  I never used it after surgery again.  I have been cleared and I no longer have sleep apnea but I do go in annualy for a sleep study to make sure.  No more darth vader mask for me!  I know that MOST folks are "cured" of it after losing weight.  I found that as the weight came off it was easier to get a restful nights sleep.  I would get checked often during the first year out.  Your settings will probably need to be adjusted several times (even monthly) as the weight falls off.  I probably should have gone back on the machine at home but when I went to my aunts to recoup so I would not be alone I forgot it and I live about 90 minutes away from her.  By then I was used to sleeping without it!

Oh that makes me so happy! I will definitely be going in for frequent checks as my mask fitting is going to probably be all over the place. I'm so excited that I can possibly get cured of this! Woot!
