Well, I just spent the past 2 hours trying to get caught up.  Ya'll are soooo busy! LOL

First, Penny...honey, I'm so sorry to hear about your Mom.  You & yours are in my thoughts & prayers.

Kat...Kayla had surgery?  For what??  I couldn't find out what happened in the posts.  Is she ok now?

Tams...I hope you're feeling better from the crud

Melanie B...I hope you're feeling better as well.

I forget who was asking, but I thought for sure one of ya'll would keep the New Year's Virtual Gala going, even without me.  I'm shocked! LOL  So do we wanna continue even though we've missed NY?  Maybe for Obama Inauguration??

As for me...it would seem that all my teeth have minds of their own & as soon as they realized that I now have terrific dental insurance & a dentist that I actually look forward to seeing, they all decided to go bad on me, nearly at once.  As soon as one fire was put out, another would come up.  So that's why I've been MIA...between mouth pain (& really good pain meds), & TRYING to do holiday stuff, I would just collapse on the couch in a drugged stupor, hoping for sleep so I wouldn't feel the pain.  Yes, the pain got past the meds.  I'm happy to report that as of this past Tuesday, EVERYTHING is now fixed.  At least for 6 weeks.  I still have to get a final impression for a permanent bridge, but I have to wait since I had an extraction there.

Christmas was...hmmmm...relatively easy.  Got some lovely gifts, some homemade by hubby, & my toolbox is now restocked!!  Yes, I'm one of those odd women that will actually ask for tools for Christmas..lol.  As much as I love all the things I got, the BEST one has to be the Wii system that Mike & Chris went in together on.  We have been playing Wii every night since Christmas Day!!  Mostly bowling...and I think I need to start losing or Mike & Matt won't wanna play me anymore cuz I keep beating the crap outta both of them!!  But hey...it's exercise, right.  And MY bowling alley is perfect!  Only place I know where I can wear my jammies & NOT have to wear those ugly shoes!!  So far my highest score is 226...woo hoooo!!

New Year's was good too.  We spent the evening with our youngest son's future in-laws & they certainly do throw a nice party.  Lots of people, lots of food, lots of stuff to do...ping pong, pool, fooz ball, karaoke (didn't have any good songs that I knew though).  Everyone else drank...I was designated driver.  Mike & I spent the night at Chris's new house, went out to lunch, went furniture shopping with him & Amanda, stopped off at my fav Mexican Restaurant for dinner, then home & more bowling.

Today I sent off the last of the boxes for my guys.  But I now have a bunch of gift cards given just for the guys & I'm expecting a nice donation from Rolling Thunder on Sunday, so I'll start shopping & shipping all over again.  I would like to take this opportunity to again say thank you to those of you that helped me with my mission...you know who you are.  It amazing how things work themselves out with the help of others...there were a couple of times when I didn't think I'd get it all done, but then ya'll sent checks & items.  Thank you ever so much.  If anyone else would like to contribute, please PM & I will send you my addy.  This is an ongoing mission...I've decided to continue until there are no longer any Americans stationed in that God-forsaken region.  Just because the holidays are over, does not mean that they still don't need things.

Now that the holidays are over, Amanda is getting into planning her & Chris's wedding.  Both sets of parents & the happy couple are going to the reception venue tomorrow afternoon to look it over, then follow that up with dinner somewhere.  I really would like to see both families join up, like they used to do in the old days.  I really like her parents & I THINK they like us.  I've decided to take a backseat in this planning stuff though...Amanda & her Mom seem content to NOT look to me for any of my expertise.  The few suggestions I've made have been politely turned down.  So that's fine...I can just be mother of the groom...let them have all the headaches...lol.

Ok, I feel the need for some bowling.  I'm feeling sleepy but I think that's just because I've been sitting here at the computer for 3 hours!  I need some movement.  THEN I'll take a siesta!

Happy New Year to you all.  I love my OH family very much.  Thank you for being in my life.

Hugs!
Ann

Ann,

Sounds like you have been a" busy little worker bee" but still found time to have fun. I loved my Wii for the first 6 months then I decided to let me kids have it..LOL

Thank you for the kind words. I am feeling better tonight and hoping to be 100% by tomorrow.

Congrats on your son getting married and you liking his future in-laws that is a great thing!!

Try letting the boys win a couple times just to make them feel better then go back to kicking butt!! HAHA

What?  You gave up your Wii??  Woman, are you MAD???  lol  That's another terrific tool to add to your arsenal, sweetie.  I hope  you still play it.

I'm so glad to hear that you are feeling better.  It sucks to be sick!

Yeah, I'm pretty stoked about Chris' upcoming wedding.  This means I'm that much closer to grandchildren...lol.  Amanda's folks really are nice people, though....ssshhh....don't tell anyone....I think I like her Dad better...Mom's uptight.  But I think I can work around that.  Since I won't have to do much for the wedding, I can concentrate on losing the F'ng weight before the big day (June 27th).  I saw a dress online that I would love to wear.

Again, glad to know you're feeling better!

Hugs!

Are you sure Amanda isn't a fake name and your in-laws aren't my parents..LOL  sorry couldn't resist!!

I don't play Wii too much anymore I find I am more disciplined with working out more by going to the gym 1-2 times a day. Also the kids throw a fit if I want to play it (spoiled brats!!).

I hope you post picks of you in the dress  would love to see it on you!!

Thanks again for the kind words  back to gym in morning!!

Hey Ann,

Hope you are feeling better with all the dental stuff you've been dealing with. Glad ya'll are enjoying the Wii system. Hope the wedding plans go well. As for Kayla, yes she had surgery this past Monday. You won't find anything in posts. I'm not going into details here. Simply asked/asking for prayers. She's a trooper though! Btw, I sent you a reply this am. :) Keep me posted. Hugs.

Glad you had a nice Christmas and New Years!  It is always nice to get an update from you.  :)

Don't fret over the wedding plans.  It may very well be that Amanda has a very clear direction for her wedding and doesn't even want HER mom involved.  LOL.  Goodness knows when i had my wedding EVERYONE had opinions, it's just sorting through those ideas that is challenging.  It comes down to what the bride wants.  I'm sure Amanda appreciates any help that you can give her and will come to you if she needs tips.  :)

BIG HUGS Sweetie!
