So many people say not t buy clothes as we will out grow them quickly. That is so true. But at the same time we need clothes. I went last week looking for clothes to wear as my size 26 looked like nightshirts  I am now a size 18. Goodwill is expensive to be a thrift store!!! I couldn't believe their prices. Salvation Army clothes lok like they been worn by 4 generations and you have to go on certain days to get a discount. So this is what I found and I hope it can help some as it helped me. Walmart has clearance rack that offer clothes cheap $3-$9. But my favorite store? CATO'S!!  I bought shirts on clearance for $4.95 brand new!! They also had pants cheap but I didn't need any as I have been receiving some from my neighbor that fit me now.  Just thought I would share.  Also if anyone needs size 24/26 clothes  2x and 3x  let me know I have alot of them some of which I think I took the tags off and never wore. Have a nice night everyone!!

Congrats on being a bargain shopper!  I also find Goodwill to be pricey on certain items.  I am picky when I got there.  I just don't think it will break the bank to spend a bit more on a new item if I'm going to spend $8 for used at Goodwill!  I really scraped by only buying clothes literally when my pants were falling off during the bulk of my weight loss.  I kept two pairs of pants and shirts were easier because I just wore them baggy.  It wasn't until about a month ago that I actually invested in some clothes.  I went all out as a treat for myself.  I got several pairs of pants and some sweaters.  I have been added pieces if the price was right.

This past weekend my hubs told me I look like I'm wearing "droopy drawers" again.  I told him "But these are my NEW pants!"  LOL  You know what, I don't care, I'll just go buy more.  I'm worth it damnit!  :)

I haven't been to Cato since the summer.  I found the same thing - great bargains for new clothes.  I will say this thought their fabrics are thinner and won't last the long run, but you really don't need them to.

I found a similar problem at Burlington Coat Factory.  I was tickled being able to shop there and try all more trendy stuff.  I bought three pairs of pants there and two already have problems!  One pair the side seam thread was not there the second time I wore them.  I only noticed when I sat that I could see my leg!  I have no idea if I had worn them the first time with the same problem?  I inspected them in the bathroom and literally the thread just wasn't there on the seam!  It was like they were pressed shut and that was it.  The second pair hem has already come down.  I thought to myself DAMN what the hell?  I sew, but flip I shouldn't have to sew a pair of pants i've only worn a couple of times!  They are pitched to the side, maybe I'll get around to it this weekend.

I have had some good luck at Target and Kohls.  Kohls is pricey (for me) and I try to look out for the sales.

I heard TJ MAXX has good clearance items too. I can't wear Target clothes they don't fit me right. I think I'm gonna hit up some yardsales Saturday and then head over to the Bellwood Fleamarket. I need to get out of the house and shopping is always nice

I have found a few things at Goodwill....but not much. Our Good will is cheaper here, pants and shirts are $2.50 each. Sweaters are $3.50. I like Clearance racks much better. Another thing I do is buy them a little tight and wear until they are too big. And if you are ever in Martinsville, we have a JCPenney outlet that is just wonderful.

Yep, I agree.  Good will can be pricy for what you are getting.  I look out for the deals and markdowns.  Also...different ones have different prices.  I go to the one in Charlottesville a lot.  They seem to be a lot cheaper.  I also do yardsales a lot and craigslist, too.  Yardsales are honestly my favorite!  I am planning on hitting some up this Saturday AM so let me know if you want to meet up somewhere.  Cato's is nice but I am not too impressed with the quality.  TJ Maxx and Marshalls are not too bad.  If you can find good things on clearence...grab them!  That is how I shopped then and still do now!
