New Surgery date Dec. 10th

I am so upset! I have another 6 weeks to wait for surgery and all I can think about is I probably will come down with a cold and it will be cancelled again! I am always getting colds in November and December!

 Ms. Boone did tell me that if anything opens up before then I am first on the list, but Dr. Barker goes on vacaction in November to. So I guess I am going to have to wait until Dec. 10th!

Sorry you have to wait. I can imagine that it is frustrating. Take care, it will be here before you know it.

I know you are disappointed, but you have an opportunity to get started on your new life style even now.  Exercise, drinking more water, being more aware of what you are eating and eating slower.  

It will help you alot after the surgery if you can get started on the good habits as you wait.

I understand your feelings of being upset, I had my original appt in Jan. 07, I didn't have my surgery till Aug. 07 because of my protein level not being where they wanted it for surgery. I was mad, i was frustrated and I almost called off the whole thing because of it, but the days flew by and now i'm 14 months out and 125.5lbs lighter and wouldn't change a thing. Your time will be here before you know it, heck it's already Nov 1st!!!

Everything happens for a reason.  Keep your head up and try to be patient.  Make sure you take your vitamins & start meds at the first sign of sniffles.  :)

Find the positives, avoid the negatives. They'll drive you simply mad! Chin up! 10th Dec will be here before you know it!

I understand completely. I am in the same boat, literally, having Dr. Barker also for a surgeon. Also, Ms. Boone told me they are closing down the OR's for elective procedures for the last two weeks of December to renovate. That bumps all of us back at least two weeks if not more because you know they never finish construction in a hospital on time. But for you its even sadder, cause you were almost there, I haven't gotten a surgery date yet and I just want to go up to them and say don't you understand? This is the new beginning of my life? How can you put it on hold? I feel your pain, but keep the faith, I'm certanitely trying too,and everyone here is so positive and supportive and that really helps!. And feel free to PM me to really vent. Maybe we'll end up being ward buddies! Just try to stay positive, get a flu shot, take your vitamins and even wear a mask if you have to go out, anything to stay well. I hadn't even thought about the complication of getting sick! Yikes!. December 10th is a great date, but I'll cross my fingers for you that something opens up sooner. I am glad you got a date before the end of the year.  I know it is disappointing but look at it this way...now you have longer to get a head start and push the protein to heal faster!  I will be praying for you.
