My family could use your prayers
My husband, Adam, has a lot of moles...not like a gross amount, but a lot. I've always kept a watch on them as he has fair skin and has had several severe sunburns over the years...yes he burns through 50spf sunscreen and he's VERY diligent about wearing sunscreen and wide brim hats.
Anyway, about 2 weeks ago I noticed a mole that was black on one side and light brown on the other...definatly something to ask a Dr. about. He thought I was weird, but went to the Dr. to shut me up. The Dr. didn't like the look of it either and made an appointment to have it removed and biopsied. They removed it last Thursday and he got 3 stitches (his first stitches). He had an appointment to have the stitches removed next week, but they called yesterday and said he needed to be seen ASAP. The lady wouldn't tell him anything over the phone except he needs to come back in on Friday and get a referral to General Surgery at Portsmouth Naval Hospital. He finally got it out of her that the biopsy was "Abnormal", but she couldn't/wouldn't tell him anything else.
It's been my experience that the only news they must tell you in person is bad news. I plan on going with him to see the Dr. tomorrow, but until then I will be going crazy wondering what is wrong and fearing the worst.

Life could not get any better than this!
I just want to encourage you. I know this is scary. Ten years ago I went to the doctor for the same reason and was diagnosed with Melanoma. Its scary, but I have been cancer free for 10 years. The nurse telling you it is abnormal can mean a wide range of things, all of which they would want to do surgery on and not all of them are cancer. It sounds like you are very diligent in checking your husband, so hopefully they have caught it before it has become a problem. I ignored my mole for over a year before I went to a doctor.
My prayers are with you and your family and if you want to talk or have any questions feel free to PM me. The hardest part is the waiting. But going crazy before you know what the problem is doesn't do any good. Just try and think about something else, stay busy until the appointment and stay positive. Keep us posted and thankfully tomorrow is Friday, so you won't need to wait too long.
