OT-OMG!! I can not contain myself...
My husband is Liberian. He was born here in the states when his parents were here going to college. They returned to Liberia when he was 1 years old. In 1990 he was evacuated from Liberia by the US due to the civil war. He came here at the tender age of like 14 and lived with a cousin. He has not seen his family since 1990!! We have been trying since we got married in 99 to to get his mom here. We have ran into roadblocks. I finally within the last year got proper guidence on what forms to fill out that will be more appropriate and easier to get her here. I filled out the Petition for Alien Immigrant Visa and sent it off back in like July or August. I just got email notification that on Sept 12 the petition was approved!!! I am so excited. Even B doesn't know yet. He is out walking with no cell phone. I need to wait for the approval form to come in with additional instructions. I know we have to prove that we can financially support her. With my income involved we will be able to do that. I am so happy!!!
