Glad you caught it early.  Next time (if there is one) put vaseline on itbefore you try and get it off.  This smothers them  and they release to come out for ait and are much easier to remove. Also, be sure to put rubbing alcohol on the spot.  Hope all is well!

thanks Tam. I did put alcohol on it last night. Did not know the vaseline trick. I am from the north where we don't see them as often. Appreciate the tip!

No problem.  I am a GRITS gal.  (Girls raised in the South) so I am here for ya with the advice.  I also grew up in the country on a horse farm so I am very familiar with them!

Yesterday was the first day of my son Doug's SENIOR year. He is my baby!

Funny you mention ticks, I got one on my stomach while on vaca at my sisters house. We went to a horse farm and did some trailing for the K9 search and rescue dogs. I thought at first it was just a tiny speck of dirt and scraped it off. Now I am thinking it waS not a good idea to do so. Guess I'll see what happens.

Oh this is going to be the most fun year for you!  All those senior activities and of course PROM!!  does Doug have a serious gf that he will invite?  I suppose prom is more of a girl thing, but it can still be fun for a mom to take all those pics of your baby dolled up in a nice suit or tux.  :)

Sorry to hear of the problems on the first day of school. Another trick for a tick is to put a drop of Dawn dishwashing liquid on it, let sit for 10-15 min. The tick will die and can be wiped off with a tissue or cotton ball. I hate the things. They were bad here this year. I had to do alot of treating on my  yard and dogs. Even with frontline on the dogs they would bite them and just die on them. Wasnt a nice  job. Only a couple got to me before i caught them. Landlord did alot of treatment once the store bought stuff wasnt proving to be effective.
Hope the year gets better from here on out.
