REPOST: SURVEY - PLEASE RESPOND
I think that it is important that you know that while your journey of alcoholism, WLS and addiction transfer will speak greatly to so many people, it is not only that, that is going to help you make a difference. I, personally, feel that is your entire attitude, your outlook, on your life, other people's lives and other people in general. You have a natural way about you that makes people truly want to pay attention to you, to not only listen but to hear what you are saying and you are definitely someone with whom so many of us can relate too... a mom, a friend, an ordinary person! The way you speak to people, allowing yourself to be on the same level as they are is what will help make that person comfortable enough to stay and to try to learn.
I definitely give you a hats off. I am in awe at your ability to open yourself up. Hopefully, as more weight drops off and more self esteem takes up residency, I can be open with others about personal things in my life that may or may not still be bringing me down. So thank you, Kat... for doing nothing but being you!!!

Hey Theresa,
Thanks again.
However, I'm not sure I follow your statement. I am aware that there are a wide variety of addiction transfers following WLS. Are you suggesting alcohol is the only one I think is? By your reply, you have worded it (in my opinion) to read that I'm only focusing on alcoholism. That is not accurate.
In fact, I'm receiving feedback and stories from folks who have struggled with various addictions or know someone who is/has. In addition, there are stories that have been coming to light of smoking addictions, shopping addictions and more.
I just want to make sure you understand that my intentions are to help not only addiction transfer issues (whether it be shopping, porn, sex, smoking, anorexia, bulimia, alcohol, etc) but WLS related issues in general.
Thanks again.

Nooo not at all. I am merely speaking that with your experience in that particular subject, with how well you are with making people comfortable and with how you carry yourself, both personality and attitude, I am nothing less than positive that you will be able to not only reach but more than help so many people, even if their addiction is not alcohol related!
I misunderstood what you wrote. My apologies. Thanks for clarifying as I want to make sure there are no misunderstandings. :)
