I've been out of the loop this week
I've been missing you all this week and hope to catch up on posts soon. This past Monday morning a water pipe in an upstairs bathroom wall broke. The only water shut off is at the meter at the street but you need sturdy pliers or a type of tool specifically designed for the job. The shutoff was buried in dirt delaying the shut off. Water ran for 40 minutes. We have have approx $40k in damage. Dehumidifiers and fans, 22 in all, have been plugged in and running non stop for 72 hours. (Can you imagine my electric bill?) The noise is deafening (sp?) the heat from these machines makes it much hotter inside than it has been outside this week. To talk on the telephone we have to go outside. At least then we have occasional Navy Jet noise (we live 2 miles from Naval Air Station Oceana in Virginia Beach).
Saturday 8/16 is the day we leave to take Kristin to college. Leo and I will be there in Tampa for a week. I then fly to Louisiana to visit my sister and her family. Thank goodness our youngest son will be home to hold down the fort!

Despite all of this I hope you have a good trip - try and relax and enjoy being away from all of the chaos......... hopefully by the time you return things will not look as bad...

I have been wondering where you have been! You have surely been missed, but it is understandable. I am sorry you have to go thru this. Makes me thankful that I have one of those water keys! Hopefully insurance will do you right and take care of it all. The electric bill shouldn't be too terribly bad. Those machines hve come a long way!
You are about to have a very emotional journey taking Kristin to college. I wish you all luck and a peaceful trip.
Enjoy the trip to see your sister. Looks like the weather may be a factor in that area, but prayers coming your way.
