PLEASE READ / RESPOND: A Dress Up Valentine's Event?

Hello Virginia!

I have been asked too many times not to consider a Winter 2009 Winter Conference. Natalie (Tink...GET WELL!!!) and I have hostedthis event in various forms the past three years in January in Richmond. We have had as few as 45 and as many as 90 attendees. I have to be in Charlotte on business this January on the weekend we normally set-aside for this, so since the main request has been for an all out FORMAL BALL - and Valentine's Day is a Saturday this year, we were considering a One Day Only Valentine Event. As costs have gone up on everything, and I want to keep it reasonable - we would probably charge the same as last year ($85/per person), and take out one of the lunches. So we are talking starting at 1:00 PM on Saturday Feb 14 and ending at 1 PM on Sunday February 15. Registration, Vendors (maybe?) Our famous "Sessions", a Formal Dinner & DJ Dance, and then a closing Breakfast/speaker(s) Sunday AM.

What I'd like to know from Virginia is IF THERE IS ANY INTEREST FROM THIS BOARD IN SUPPORTING this PROPOSED event.

It would again be held in Richmond at theHoliday Inn Central (right off I-95 in the center of Richmond)

Please take a moment to respond with your interest level. I appreciate it! If we feel there are enough interested parties, we'll proceed. I know ppl from the West Coast are already looking at plane tickets- so the sooner you respond, the sooner Natalie & I can decide to move forward!!

PS! If you have not been to an event before - consider testing the water at Jackie's upcoming event - It looks FAB!!! I am checking my own schedule and hope I can attend myself, depending on what number of children need to be in differnet places at the same time and what grandparents will be available to pawn them off on...lol

Scot and I are in!  I think the timing and the propsoed plans are a good idea.  I hope we have a meet and greet on Friday for those that get in and want to go to dinner like last time.  Vendors aren't real important to me, but I would like to see real strong new speakers as usual.

OMG~ How are you two!!!?? I'd love to see the two of you at the event! Yeah! Friday night on the town a strong possibility again as so many planning an early arrival if this takes off! Spread the word and watch for announcements soon :)

Tentative yes for Steve and I, but as usual it will all depend on finances at the time.  Never knowing when my dad's meds change and what will be going on with his health prevent me from preplanning a lot of things.  Unfortunately his meds usually change really close to when I have just filled the months supply!

I would be interested & looks like it would work with hubby/kid schedule.  Finances would be the only concern.

A tenetive yes for me and hubby.  Of course finances and seeing if I can pawn my kids off someone.

I'm always up for seeing everyone!  :)  I'll definately join in!

Your efforts are certainly appreciated, as always. I will certainly be there for the afternoon sessions, but not for the formal dinner & dance. Formal is not my thing.
