Very Upset With CommonWealth

I have been a patient there for 4 years. And up until tonight I really thought they had their stuff together .
Pat B, my best friend , called me tonight @ 11:30 . Tells me she has thrown up what looks like blood - coffee grounds and has been vomiting all night . I tell her to call the office and let them know so they can tell her what to do . I told her to go on to the hospital, but she sat there and waited and waited for them to call .
It is 1:30 am and they have not called her . This was 2 hours ago . She even told the operator what was going on .

She went on to the ER , but with no call back from the surgeons office.
Someone should have called. To me this is just wrong . I am going to call Janeen in the morning as I have some issues going on , and I am going to complain . She is really sick , and what if she had decided to just wait for the surgeon to call  her back before going ? What if she is bleeding inside. I just do not get it . What is happening to our healthcare system . Just yesterday I go to fill a prescription. The pharmacy tells me that I can only have generic , but my doc wrote for namebrand. Now we have pharmacys practicing medicine . ARGGGGGG
I am very frustrated .
Please pray that Pat gets some answers to her bleeding and vomiting .

I will be prating for Pat. I hope everything is better for you too. Didn't we have this conversation about other fols practricing medicine? This is terrible. Take care hun. I miss you sooo much.

I can't believe they did not call her back. Every time I leave a message (at least in Jeanines voicemail- never had a night emergency) she calls me right away. I am sorry to hear they did not attend to her needs. There should be NO excuse for it. Hope everything is going ok for her now. Keep us updated.

Why did she wait for a call back?  The coffee ground thing is a major sign of an internal bleed.  This is something we are told in our preop class and told to go straight to the ER. 

Is there any update on how she is doing????

I'm scheduled for a scope in the am....
Not quite sure why I didn't hear back from the dr on call but rest assured
when I see DrH in two weeks I'll let him know about it.

Hope and pray everything goes well with your scope! I had similar problems w/ vomitting blood few months ago. Took 2 trips to ER to get scope from surgeons office. ER didnt find anything on upper GI. They conceded that it was either a virus and blood from vomitting too much, or I let myself get to constipated. Maybe TMI, just my experience. Hope everything turn out great for you. Good to see your face again!
