You look green!

The first full day I was in Florida for my quarterly visit to my sick mom and my dad I confirmed my thought that the reason I didn't get the rude comments that other people get about obesity, WLS, etc., is people in Virginia are extra thoughtful.  First my mom's friend said, You are so thin, I hardly recognize you and you look so SHORT.  How do you feel?  Short, I replied.  Then she said, don't lose anymore weight in your face or you will look old.  Next my friend of 34 years was highlighting my hair and asked how I felt, becasue she said I looked GREEN.  I told her I didn't feel green.  Next I went to see my BFF who I had seen the night before.  I asked if I looked OK, becasue Dana said I looked green.  She said why did you see Dana, you didn't need a cut and you are a natural blonde?  I thought you just blow dried your hair.  I told her it was nice to know that I just had a ninety dollar "*******"  I went back to my mom's and she said my hair was too light and oh BTW my nails were too long.  YIKES!

Things did look up.  LOL  Apparently, I was a bit swollen from my thigh lipo during my last visit and the last five pounds I have lost shows, because I got a lot of "you look awesome and you are even trimmer than last time" from folks.  Even mom.  Ha, Ha.

Oh my gosh Loris too funny.  I wish I could come up with those snappy and witty comebacks.  You did great...lol.  I sure would have liked to see their faces with some of those comebacks.  Welcome home!!!!

I happen to think you look absolutely BEAUTIFUL! I think folks at times cannot find the right words to say things while others just don't have it in them to profess things verbally in ways that aren't hurtful. Others are gonna say things but we have to pick and choose our response and we have to remember that there folks who don't like change and when big ones happen stealing your thunder maybe the only way they can see to make themselves feel better. That you are taking great care of yourself and giving yourself attention is always gonna draw attention. But, we are totally worth it and keep on keeping on Loris because its truly what's inside not outside that matters most.
