Appt with the Gastro Dr

I am still having issues with the wonderful potty.  I have been on benefiber for a week and I have been trying to consume foods higher in fiber.  I buy my yogurt with the extra fiber and my cottage cheese.  I am limited to what I can still eat, but I have more the beans and the like.  I am still only having one BM a week and it is giving birth all over.  So i am concerned. I really don't want to go on the laxitives yet because I read it could cause permenent damage.  I go in on July 31 to see him.  I saw him prior to surgery a couple of years ago.  He is a really good Dr and looking forward to some answers.  I am wondering though if I should contact my surgeon's office first and let them know what is going on.

Please do contact your surgeon's office. They should be made aware of these things as there have been cases of bowel obstructions from newly post-op to several years out among other issues. If anything, just an informational phone call would help in case something should come from these that cannot be easily resolved.

Try adding some prunes...if you are still on soft foods get baby food prunes. Also some sugar free apple sauce may help. And push the water even more.

Hope you have relief.

I am sorry to hear you are having these issues. Please contact your surgeon. He should know what's going on with you. Take care and I hope you get this straight very soon.

Sorry you are still having problems.  Like Jen said, try some prunes (they don't taste as bad as I thought they would have!) and like Kat said...call your surgeons office and at least inform them of what is going on.  And just a thought...maybe a little less bluebell cheese???  I know it is good and a great source of protein but it may be helping the problem out some!
