last 30 pounds update
thank you for you encouragement. I knew I could find my answer from my fellow grads. I spent most of he night reaearching my problem and decided the best answer for me is the 5dpt. What a marvelous idea! Just get back to basics and quit fooling with the program. So today is day one. The recipies for soup sound very familiiar but over time I have added a few things. The new things will be eliminated and I start all over today. Today while I was walking I reset my mind. I took myself back to the time I was fighting for my surgery. I had forgotten how desperate I was and how nothing was going to stop me. Sometimes we need a reminder to kick us in the ----.
I am 62 and 5' tall so even though I am comfortable at 155 I am a size 10,I would like to loose another 20 pounds and maybe a 6 or 8. I do not plan on the plastic surgery, which is why I work so hard at the gym trying to keep everything as toned as I can. I do have some hanging skin on my arms and stomach but at my age 3/4 sleeves and a pair of Spanx takes care of that!
I let you know each day goes.
Marion, thanks for responding. I didn't know what the 5dpt was either until I read it on the main messageboard. Go to www.5daypouchtest.com it will explain everthing. I am 2 1/2 years out had my surgery in Nov 05 not 06, my error please excuse me. Anyway I needed to lose these last pounds and today I am on day 3 and this is just what I needed. It just puts you back to the very beginning and you get a renewed respect for your pouch and more in touch with how you are eating. I would recommend it to any long term grad who is having a problem.
hi gymjunkie
i had great..AWESOME..success with the 5DPT
first and foremost...it helped me "remember" the rules, get back to the BASICS, things i'd "forgotten" over the last couple of years...and to top it off..i experienced some weight loss with it as well...it has definitely helped me ...ive had continued success...the first 5dpt week was 6/17-6/21 ..and then again...6/30-7/4 ..i still DRINKKKKKKKKKK and still get my PROTEINSSSS ...and feel absolutely wonderful
not expecting weight loss or even doing it for that reason..i did experience an 11# loss between the two times ive done it
if you want to know more on how it worked for ME...MY opinion...then email and i'll give you all my info on it....as with everything..everyone is DIFFERENT..doctor opinions are different as well..i talked to my surgeon about it and got the ok ...you may want to do the same with yours.
good luck and keep your head up ...YOU CAN DO ANYTHING YOU PUT YOUR MIND TO
-hugssss-

Thank for your reply, I thought I was imagining it but I have had a 4 pound weight loss by the morning of the 4 day. I guess maybe I wasn't as far off track as I thought because it really hasn't been that difficult. I have always done protien first and have always drank all my water. What I did find in reviewing all my info and the 5 day plan is that I now wait 1 hour after meals before having water. That gives me a full feeling and I don't need a snack. Tomorrow is my last day and then I will start adding in a few things like vegetables and fruit. I don't eat bread so that is also not a problem for me. I did use crackers for a snack but I think I will elimanate them. Even though they are low cal I didn't consider the slider factor and they get absorbed rapidly. The only problem I have experienced is I am a little more tired than usual. I kept up my regular workout routine. I am going to try to stay between 1000 and 1200 cal and mix it up every day so my body doesn't know what to expect. My hunger has disappeared just like it did after my surgery, isn't that funny?????
Only one question for you, why did you try it twice so close together??
