Hi Corinn, thanks for the comments and wish you could have been at the BBQ as Jackie really had a good show. Hope you are feeling better from the plastic surgery by now. Yeah Kat's Mom helped me with the ticker as I couldn't figure it out and I think she did a great job. Hope to see ya soon. Jim

Sounds like you are doing great Jim!  The transition into foods can be difficult.  Just take it easy & don't give up!

I am the "kind soul" that gave you the protein drink.  I am glad you enjoyed it.  Even at 3+ years post op I still carry some with me most everywhere!  Good luck.  Let me know if you need any more support.  I am always around! Tammy

Many thanks Tammy as I needed that. The food was great but I guess I wasn't able to do that yet. Still working on it but I still have a problem with some foods yet and I guess I'll stick with the soft stuff and liquids for another two weeks and then try solids again. I guess everyone is different in this respect, not sure. Can you buy those protein drinks around somewhere as it tasted so much better than the ones I have at home but I forgot the name. Thanks again for your kindness, I really appreciated that... Jim

Jim, Sticking to the soft foods is a good thing.  I stuck to them for months and even now at 3+ years out I still chop up a lot of my foods in a mini chopper I bought for 9.99.  It just makes things easier.  The drink you had was a sample that was in our goodie bags.  It is the new Achiev One caffiene free and I believe you had the Mocha.  If not, it was the Chocalate.  They are not available yet (that I know of) but you can order them at bariatriceating.com.  They do have them now with caffiene.  I am glad you enjoyed it.  You may also want to try Unjury.  They have an unflavored one that I use a lot.  I add it to many things.  I make smoothies a lot by putting some milk or yogurt in the magic bullet with some fruit and a scoop of powder.  Nectar is also great.  Have you tried it? I can give you info to get some FREE samples (usually 3-6 packs) if you have not tried it yet.  Let me know and keep up the good work! Tammy

Yep, I'm inclined to agree with you on the soft stuff. yeah I tried the achieve one with caffine and although it is good, I shouldn't drink caffine flavored drinks as I even drink decaf coffee. I will definitely go on their website to see if they will get them anytime soon and I'll also go to the unjury site and check theirs out. I bought a month's supply of protein from the vendor at Ashburn and that stuff is hard to get down. What is the scoop of powder you use and I haven't tried the nectar yet so send me the info if you don't mind...Yes I will and thanks a bunch Tammy...Jim

I use a variety of protein supplement scoops.  I like the unjury the best...either unflavored or chocolate.  I can't stand the strawberry sorbet!  i believe unjury.com sells samples packets.  I think the caffiene free achieve ones are due in at the end of summer.  I will keep you posted and will send the info on the nectar packets asap!

Jim,  The info for the free Nectar samples is as follows: 1-866-333-7403 You May have to leave a voice mail, but they do call back and usually send six samples.  They will tell you the flavors they have and discuss what you may like best. Let me know what you think of them! Tammy
