Acid reflux?

I was wondering....can we get acid reflux with our pouches? I have been having these pains in my chest / pouch area that feel like my pouch is burning / hurting. It feels like the heart burn attacks that I used to get prior to surgery. I cant say that food causes it, it just starts burning and hurting and then goes away after a few hours. ??? I dont feel like there is a need to call my Dr or anything. Just curious if we can get heart burn now. Hope all is well with everyone. Cheers! Cathy

I agree with the others--it could be an ulcer and you do NOT want to chance that. Call the Dr. Lois

Hburg will depend on Wayne and the weather--both have about the same degree of predictability Lois

We can but they don't want us too. They have upped my stomach meds from tagament to Prilosec to Protonix to get rid of my symptoms. You need to call and talk to your doc or CNP. They may want to see you or prescribe something over the phone. Have your pharmacy number ready. Don't be a tuff guy or not want o bother any body. Simple things cna be come complicated if they are not addressed when they are still simple things. If meds don't fix the problem, it might be something more serious. You come this far. Let them take care of you the whole way. Better to ask a silly question than to do a silly thing and wind up back in the hospital. Keep us posted on the outcome,...OK?

Thanks, for the reply. I will call the Dr first thing next week. I really feel embarrased when I call a Doctor and they tell me that it is gas, or something stupid like that. I really do try to be the "tuff guy". Tootles! Cathy
